Frank MacAvennie looked great on his debut at Parkhead against Hibs (I think), and Gary Gillespie looked like a world beater on his debut against Falkirk.

Ambrose had a cracking debut. Ramon Vega also, a double from a centre half is a good start at a new club.

Remember that game was only 16 at the time bought tickets for the home end cause never thought could get a ticket for the away end, there must've been as many Celtic supporters there than Morton, there was a pitch invasion at the end lol

Boruc's first game in a pre-season friendly against Leicester think the first thing he done in that game was save a penalty and David Marshall against Barcelona as well. I know it wasn't his actual debut but was his first start so that as well

Paulo Di Canio against Kilmarnock. He came on when Celtic were really struggling to break down the Kilmarnock defence, he scored a great goal and played at a level well above anyone else on the pitch. After about five minutes of watching him you were thinking "f@ck me, this guy is one * of a player".

You can say what you want about his off-field antics but no-one can deny Di Canio was an amazing footballer.

Barry Robson scoring against Aberdeen with his first kick of the ball.

Really think signing Robson was the one of the main reasons we won the league that year.

For me, it is either David Marshall vs Barcelona (full debut), or Zheng Zhi vs The Huns or Nakamura vs Dundee United.

    All three were memorable debuts.

Glenn Loovens had a terrific debut at home v Falkirk.

Bearing in mind he was up against Michael Higdon at the time, big Loovens NEVER ONCE lost a ball in the air against him, and totally dominated him that day.

I wonder what the * went wrong with him :31:

Jings, I forgot all about his debut when posting here. A guy so young breaking through and scoring so impressively against the side who were unarguably the best in the league outside ourselves and Oldco was one of the most thrilling individual performances I've witnessed as a Celtic fan.

Juninho had a good one, Mcgeady, Sutton's old firm debut was not too bad either:56:, scored the winner on his actual debut against Dundee Utd too.

Talking about Juninho, I wish we had a player like him now. Always wish he could have stuck around.

Amido Balde's first competitive match for us definitely. 27 goals in 90 minutes of football takes some beating.

Probably mentioned already but big Vega had a stormer.

I bet that big dafty greets himself to sleep at night wondering why he didn't stick around at Paradise.
