    If Celtic does have a one-year option, then exercise it before offering him a new deal. I do say, though, he is my top scorer on FIFA 2013, so they better keep him!

    Glad you used the words rumours, anybody who knows Stokes knows there was no truth in the stories the gutter press ran as with all the other stories
    the good thing is most fan's see these rubbish stories for what they are. The truth always comes out in the end, and the papers will be exposed for the witchhunt againgst Tony and his family because of their political views. He would bite Lennon's hand off for a new contract and IMO I would rather see a player like him wearing the jersey rather than a player who uses the club just to move to a so called bigger club. Stoksey is first and foremost a Celtic Fan. who is currently playing for Celtic on less money then any other player in the team FACT

    Yes. Unless he wants crazy wages, which I doubt he does as he is a celtic fan and happy at the club. Very good player on low wages. No reason not to keep him.

    Putting it simply, we have a 25 goal a season striker on the books. He isn't as good as Hooper and Watt probably has more potential but to find a great striker, that guarantees you goals and assists, is a commodity in todays market.

    His supposed 'baggage' is most likely why no one has been sniffing around (that we know of). He is more than capable of scoring goals in every championship side and probably a few premiership teams too. I think the fact that he isn't in demand is why we are being lackadaisical about his contract situation. Possibly wanted to see how serious his injury was too. You can guarantee plenty of clubs will greet a free player of his calibre into their arms, baggage or not. No way will Celtic let him leave.

    Do we really want to continue bringing in Miku's, Bangura's and Rasmussen's when we already have an above average SPL standard player?

    Stokes contract was 3 years with the option of a 4th, the option will almost certainly be taken so I severely doubt he'll leave for free in the summer. We'd be daft not to extend it by 2/3 years too, hes an important player.
