Not going to read your blog..BUT.

Salaries to Footballers should only be capped if ticket prices are going to come down.

The Players deserve the wages at the minute because if they don't get it then they will be used by Businessmen to make themselves richer.

So....cap the wages when the income to clubs comes down a bit.

The issue i have highlighted is that it would have to be a worldwide thing rather then national as that would leave the nation at a disadvantage and implementing it on that scale would be ny on impossible

At a very fundamental level I do not believe it is right for any free company to be told what they must pay a person, or likewise tell an employer that they are not allowed to earn past a certain level.

I know there is little sympathy for this argument when it comes to ludicrous football salaries but say you are Mr Messi and suddenly you can "only" earn say £50k a week. Now of course £50k a week still makes you a very rich man but look at what he sells. The number of strips with his name, merchandise, ticket sales, not to mention competition revenue from his actual performances. Why is it fair his salary is capped when he believes he makes infinitely more for the club than "only" £2.5m a year?

The money generated has to go somewhere so inevitably it will go to the salary of the board and to shareholders instead of the player. Besides a salary cap, what you are really talking about I am guessing is a cap on ticket prices, merchandise sales, prize money, etc. Otherwise you are just taking from players and giving to global plcs.

Salary Cap isnt going to stop the silly money that takes place in Football today. Look at American sports, they all have salary caps yet guys like Peyton Manning make almost 20 million dollars a year.
