    Re: possible next signing?

He'd be a good fringe player, but I doubt anything more. In saying that, we need depth, so if he doesn't demand high wages I'd go for him.

maybe if you had put your information into the 'rumour mill' thread where something like this belongs you might have got a response -

far too many threads being started unnecessarily - come on guys think before you post

Bernard would be good but isnt he a left back? We already have Mo!

    Marseille forward Fabrice Fiorese

He was offered the opportunity to move to The Premiership with Pompey but snubbed a switch to Fratton Park.

Instead, Fiorese is now mulling over a proposition from The SPL, believed to be from Celtic or Rangers, while there is also a bid from the Middle East. Qatari club Al-Rayyan, who are coached by former France international Luis Fernandez, have offered Fiorese a €1 million-a-year salary.

    Re: Christian Dailly Rumour

I would bite their hand off.

Dailly is past his best, but at least he would be a defender, which we have very few of and although Hartson has scored lots of goals, I still watch him and think he is lazy, he made absolutely no contribution during the last few games of last season and that was when we really needed his goals.

He also claims that playing games makes him fit but had to be substituted for almost all of the last set of games last season because he was overplayed.

    Re: possible next signing?

He scored for Hearts today and a M8 at the game said he had a good game. Still doesn't mean he would have been anything more than a fringe player at Celtic.

Don't think there's any truth in the Daily rumour, can't see Celtic selling Hartson either.
The story on the Czech midfielder is old news, I think Celtic will only be buying defenders if cash is available.

Does anybody know much about this, or Alpay? He is a bit on the old side, but at least he should be experienced.

I don't know whether this is the place to post this, but Celtic's currently testing Greek def. Dabizas (he tested at Anderlecht, but didn't get signed, supposedly too slow a player), and if they don't sign him, they will go after Michal Zewlakow (Anderlecht aswell), which would be a very bad move, because he's one of the worst defenders in Europe..

Hey, MrMariusz you're Polish aren't you? How can you be saying sth wrong about Polish player?! To be honest, I think Zewlakow is too old (29), Celtic needs youger players than him. If we talk about Polish players, maybe Baszczynski, he plays in national team, plays now in Magic's former club and will be good right-back...

Zewlakow is slow, can not dribble past his man. He can cross well, and is a good free-kick taker but that's about it. Not Celtic-material.
When a player sucks, even though he's Polish, it has to be said.

Wisla should do everything they can to keep Baszczynski... they will not find another rightback like him..

Dabizas link is confirmed; he's issued a 'come and get me' plea because he has no club atm. Don't rate him personally - if he can't cut it at Leicester, why should we sign him? Mind you, that didn't stop them signing Camara.

The other link is Martin Taylor of Aston Villa. At 25 he's younger, but I don't know enough about him to comment tbh.

Just read that Seth Johnson is being released by Leeds - 8 mil quid of player sold for nothing. He's only 26 and on a free - potential?

could be a good acquisition...long term replacement for lenny??

injury prone and would demand quite high wages...a gamble.
