I have heard it from 3 diffrent people today. First ma mate text me asking if i had heard anything about it, then a was in the celtic shop and a heard two guys talking about him and then a was talking to a guy a know in the street and he said that bellamy and Steven Whittaker will be signed on friday.

 

Is he any good??

 

He's no bad ! A wouldn't mind seeing him at CP

 

bellamy should get done...theres more money available now that jackie's jumped to wolves

 

We never got a penny for him.

 

I think he is meaning that the wages we paid McNamara are freed up now he is gone.

 

jackie was like our lowest paid first XI player. I think everyone's spirit would really be raised if we got Bellamy.

 

I think we need at least 8 or 9 new players and thats including Bellamy.

Have seen that there is a rumour going about that Strachan was due back today and there is a press conference at CP tomorrow to announce new signings :S

Did anyone else pick up on the fact that McNamara was only on 12,ooo a week to be a bit of a joke? 10 Years of services and versatility......wat more do u have to do for Celtic to be in with the crowd???? Plus that means that there are less scots on the team, mcgeady irish lennon irish marshall scottish not alot of scotch men and Jackie shouldnt have to up home at this point of his life or career......loyalty from fans is one thing but the board dont seem to be singing from the same hymn sheet??

 

i dunno who to believe, i have a sneakin suspicion that after 10 years he wanted a change, not at the beginning, but i dont think he was forced into leaving. If jackie was happy on £12,000 a week before, then what changed. Would you pay him much more than you have been just because he's a ruddy nice bloke? I wouldnt. He got a better offer and he went for the money. 5 years ago he wouldnt have got a move to england, so when the chance popped up, he went for it.

 

disagree with you on this one bhoywunda, i think he's been a great servant and deserved double that, he's been better than big bobo and he's supposed to be on about 40 grand a week. as usual the celtic board has shown themselves to be a pack of stingey *.

 

same old same old-"stingy board" talk, read between the lines, look at what jackie said-he always wanted to move to england. He didnt really make an impact until about 3 years ago, nobody wanted him before. good luck to the fella, he served the club very well but at the end of the day, hes not the greatest, and i dont think hed be worth double his wages. i wonder what role GS had planned for him, i dont think he would have been the regular stalwart MON had him playing as.

 

jackie was only on 8 grand a week last season because of his testimonial and the board decide to stick to 8 gs for his new deal. bobo was on 28 grand a week .

 

awrite peepo just a new member to the forum-- a think strachan should concentrate more on getting a new centre-back rather than a striker -- personally a still hink big john can do a job for us wots ur ideas??
