would love to see platini eat his words typical of the uefa big wigs they designed the C.L. to keep the big teams from going out early and losing revenue and treat all other teams as fodder for the big teams lets face it if we play the way we did against hibs we need to hope juventus have 2 shocking games for us to proceed to the next round, time for the team to start upping their game and give us some belief that we will get through this round and make uefa sit up and take notice.

Assuming that the story is true, then all it looks like is him playing to the gallery bearing in mind that the interview was with an Italian newspaper. A nothing story. I'm sure if he was directly interviewed here he'd be saying something different. A nothing story.

Platini is a * regardless if the story is true or not.

Indeed. Can't imagine him giving an interview where he stated he wanted, wished or expected Celtic to go through though, can you?

Not that I would want him to, either.

Certainly not. I was more talking about him going with the line that Celtic could pull of a shock, every chance of going through if things went right for us etc.

To be fair he is just saying what most people think. But we will see. Hopefully Juventus and their players have the same mindset and who knows what might happen. Certainly classic bulletin board material though.

I will be delighted if the Juve team has the same expectations. as they will expect to steamroller us, and act complacent, we could get a result if that happens.

At the end of the day, he's only saying what everyone thinks. But now, we have something to prove all over again and we have players that can stand up to the physical side of Juve, that gives us a chance.

I love the hype, and i said it before, if we score first it's game on. I mind all the teams coming out with the same kinda comments en route to Seville, so maybe it's a good omen.

Such a strange comment for somebody in his position to make. UEFA and FIFA clearly have favourites, remember their reaction to the Henry handball against Ireland? They were clearly just so delighted that France got through, they wouldn't have changed it for the world. This just makes me want to beat Juventus even more, they'd be absolutely furious about it.

Stupid and unprofessional comment. Nothing more. No need for any massive overreaction from us, as long as the players are told to use it to their advantage. We were always going to be underdogs regardless of who we drew (with a possible exception of Malaga but even then that'd be debatable to the larger footballing world). Underdogs is what suits us though, so I couldn't care less how many figures in football - bureaucratic or otherwise - say daft things like this, it will be used to our own advantage á la "men against boys" and the ITV Sport Tweet. :50:

    Platini's a *!

Who cares obviously he is going to say stuff like this, he shouldn't really in his position but he's a * so we should have expected this. Irrelevant to the game itself! Lets see what happens, hopefully we sneak it!

OR ... you know the scandal about test lottery was the same as the real one?

Maybe they already planned out the quarters and refree will provide some kind of help!
You know Platini played for some years in juventus and won 3 golden ball and so on

I read it as the poster suggesting that the reaction to it was one of scandal. That is hardly the case.
