Spot on! I've been saying for ages that those two would work together. Allow both to essentially play box-to-box taking turns of helping with the attack.:50:

My point was proved today . Middle of the park is too slow and not mobile enough . Barry Ferguson ran the midfield but if Barton was there i dont think hed let him away with the time he got on the ball today

We need a player in the mould of Gatusso (forgive me father) who would snap away at feet, but there's not too many of them about. Also we lack someone in central mid to spray the ball about.

We simply have not replaced Petrov yet. We have tried to replace him cheap 3 times this season with Graveson, Hartley and JJ but its not worked out. It is weird cause I would have been on cloud 9 last summer if I had been told we would have these three at CP but its just not worked out for any of them. Bit if a mystery. Still think Hartley will come good next season.

i saw him the other nite against man utd, i wood say he was outstanding but thats and understatement, my simple little mind couldnt think of an adjective to describe him. u seen he was really winding up the man utd players, i think hes a wee rhino, just goes to show u that when u leave gers u can actually go places, kenny miller is now at celtic, same for pressley and mark brown.:celt_2: and hopefully we can add wee rhino to that list:84: ..... then i woke up

Middle midfield is shocking the now, Lennon is off but i'd also get rid of Hartley (why the * did we sign him anyway? :47:) Jarosik and Gravesen and just have a total revamp of that particular area of our squad.

I'd love to see Scott Brown and Joey Barton brought in, and also Stan Petrov to be brought back in. If not Stan then Stephen Appiah. With them 3 and Sno i think we'd be sorted, but i also think that we need cover for both wings, as i think Naka and McGeady are class on their day but don't produce it enough for me. Yes Naka deservedly got player of the year, but consistency can be a problem at times, which we we're warned about when we first signed him. McGeady i think will improve again next season and will be a top class player for us in the coming years, but to me Riordan is not adequate cover for left-mid as he is to slow.

I'd sign Appiah first, he'd go along way to fixing our midfield problem, imo

we dont realy hve a midfield proble it's fixable. Celtic sign appiah who is the best player in turkey btw and is as talanted as essien, who was chelseas second best player behind drogba. (the more i go on the less it seems we have a chance of signing this guy "prayers")!

we have a midfield of...... graveson appiah
    mcgeady naka

    bellamy jvoh

The official language of Ghana is English, and he moved to Italy when he was 16. So its highly likely that he speaks good english.

So you would play with 1 centre back, because Wilson and Naylor could not play in a back 3. And you would have no naturally defensive midfielders. So what your really saying is, we'd need to score 5 goals every game to beat the 4 we'd be giving away. Madness, utter madness.

    NAKAMURA GRAVESEN APPIAH ???????

Ha! I think we really need a good, pacey right winger who can deliver. McGeady has proved that he can't perform in the big games and too often pulls out of tackles.

Unfortunately, I think WGS will go for one defender, one midfielder and one striker as first team signings, with a few youngster, same as he did last season.

Sno is developing well, which will encourage WGS to continue with such signings.

We have never looked so lacking in guile up front for years. Mind you, we have been spoiled by players like Di Canio, Cadete, Larsson, Sutton - I could go on for ever!

Yeah we would need all the EPL and top European league teams to not notice his availability and his agent to let us sign him secretly for it to happern. I would love it but I think he is way out of our league and wont come unless he is more than a bit eccentric. How much would a world class player like Appiah cost anyway?? Cant see us getting high profle world class players here unless they have run into trouble or are considered risky for some reason. I am certain we will be going for good but much lower profile players.
