He said afterwards: "They are frustrated. I disagreed with them, I didn't like what they said about the team. Look, if they are not happy with what I am doing and they want me to go, I will.

"If the fans make it clear that they are not happy and they want me out then that's okay, I will do the honourable thing.

this is all he said yet again the media and people making a big deal over nothing, he was asked the question and answered it, and yes i would like to think if the fans made it clear he wasn't wanted anymore then he should leave.

Celtic were not that bad today a few of the players didn't look interested and our finishing was woeful but that isn't lennon's fault he picked a good team today he cant force them to play well, and yes we lost but we are still top of the league and doing really well in europe some of the fans reactions today were way over the top people need to stop taking every loss so hard we can't win every game or have an amazing performance every week. The Referee probably influenced Lennons actions towards the fan got to be one of the worst referee performances i can remember.

Some fans need to relax, but so does Lennon. Love the guy, but when was the last time you saw a manager getting into it with a fan during a game?

I see Lennon tweeting a lot on Twitter, and for his own mental health, I'd hope he gives that more of a rest too. He responds to everything from people just wanting a friendly retweet, to praise, to stick from supporters (or recently the Green Brigade issue), to trolls/huns writing disgusting insults. It's no good for him. The man seems to be like many of us, obsessed with the club, at times to a fault.

    at last some common sense.

The way I see it, is he is probably sick of morons yelling their mouth off about what he should be doing. He is a paid professional that is going about his business.

These people are not experts or professionals in sports management. they are supporters. yes they have a entitlement to be entertained, but abusing the manager to show their displeasure is crossing the line.

Neil Lennon and the team have been successful in europe this season. Lets get to the point that is what this season is all about this year. EUROPE.

It is clear, he is following a methodology he learnt under O'Neill. Put your strongest first team out, play them regualrly, and you only get into the first team on merit.

We are witnessing a series of bad results/performances after important European games in the SPL. This could be down to preparation times between games. I believe they are being specifically drilled or coached for the european games, for the higher calibre teams they are facing.

As a result, they are not getting adequate time to prepare for the domestic games.

It is ridiculous that people are criticising their manager, when he has re-built the first team, completing well in Europe and bringing thru exciting young players when they are ready.

Get behind the manager, and the team.

There are a couple of moaners who sit behind the dugout about a dozen rows back who are always at it, I have friends in their with season tickets and they say that everyone around them thinks they are dicks but sadly they are vocal dicks.

Lenny was honest enough to admit things are not acceptable as they are but he should not raise to the bait with these guys who I am sure have got the reaction and notoriety they clearly want.

Its also worth mentioning that Lenny shouldn't think that a few "mouths" speak for us all, he is very much wanted and I like many have every faith that he will turn things round!

...Also, isn't it ironic that a Celtic fan is pictured in the Sunday Mail confronting Neil during the game at CP yesterday and in the same paper there is a story about the two thugs who sent nail bomb packages to Neil!!!! there is a need to show some restraint and take a reality check!

Aye a hope the guy that was giving the manager abuse got hounded out by the people around him. Shocking way to treat our manager. Go shout at the fat * Butcher for being the * he is, rather than giving the scum rags (Sunday mail) ammo.

I remember November 23rd last year, at home to Dunfermline, Lennon gave a fan some stick back when he headed up the tunnel at the final whistle and we actually WON that match. This fan pictured above is what would have added to Lenny's frustration as well and when things aren't going right the last thing he needs is eejits like this giving him verbal and I'm gonna have a wild guess and say that this guy wasn't giving "constructive criticism" either.

I wonder how the fan above would react if Lennon turned up at the guy's work and berated him in that exact same manner.

There's absolutely no need for Neil Lennon to be saying that. What Neil Lennon should be saying is that he can understand the criticism because our league form has been poor.

There's not many seriously calling for him to be sacked, so it's a really stupid comment to make. Supporters get * off because they want to see the team they love do well and managers have to handle that. That's not excusing any inappropriate comments from fans.

I love Neil but his comments are silly here.

Fans don't need to be constructive. That's why they're fans. Lennon has to take a reality check. The monotony of the league is the reason most fans have a season ticket - paid for. If i want to call the players a waste of my money then I'm entitled to. They need to realise how much i sacrifice to watch them coast thru games with a indifference that only comes from being handed life on a plate.
