my only concern is his ability to live in the legendary auld firm 'goldfish bowl'....off the park he will have to change dramatically.

just had this very argument (barton for celtic/is he any good) up at the shops and i actually had a hun backing me up and my mate who is a hun was defending the hun who was backing me ups mate and hes a tim is that mad or what?

In effect two pals a tim and a hun talking to two pals that are a tim and a hun and the tim from one party was agreeing with the hun from the other party mean while the hun from my party was agreeing with the tim from the other aforementioned party

Keane wasnt well behaved , neither was cantona, but i would have took them at CP so why not Barton?

u know it amazes me all these stories about joey barton ...... ok hes bin huckled by the fuzz for a few misdemeanors so wat ! but as for the rest of the stories ......(ie) schoolboy attack, the everton fan etc) where have all these stories emanated from ? just cast ur minds back to events in newcastle a few years ago, remember big mjallby, lennon, thompson, etc, they were all classed as thugs and thieves, but in the end it turned out the allegations were all a load of *, ............ think again about all the riordan stories........... strachans daughter, deeks scudding wee ginga, ...... more unfounded stories. punters should just think b4 they lambast individuals, just remember wen u read all these stories, papers take on anything, even * wen u wipe ur * with them ! gimme joey barton anyday, hes a player who plays for the jersey, and hes a player not just a talker

He's a * scumbag. The problem with your arguement Timbhoy is that none of the stories about him are media spin. He's been charged every time. He put a cigar out in a kid's face, attacked a teammate and has been in loads of scuffles. He marches around like he's looking for a fight. Some would say that kind of aggression is good in the game, but it's not focussed. You could see him breaking an opponent's leg in a game and then going out on the * the same night. He's a wee scally breed that needs a solid kicking of a player like Keane was.
