Great reading that and I loved his celebration when he scored. They booed him every time he went to take a corner but moan about "respect"? * 'em.

* poor again, taking far to long to make the break. Aberdeen where very tame.

 

Aberdeen done well in stifling us and managed to negate our threat for 70 minutes of the game, unfortunately for them all that work they put in to stop us was for nothing. They looked like they were going to be adventurous by going with McGinn, Fraser and Hayes in the line up, but for most of the game Aberdeen played very defensive.

You can say we played crap for 70 minutes, but it's really difficult to play against that kind of defensive resistance. We done it to Barcelona ourselves and you saw how difficult we made it for them by putting men behind the ball and staying strong.

The problem with playing that way is it only takes one mistake or bit of class and the gameplan goes out the window and Wanyama's effort off the post was that bit of class we were needing. We looked much better after we scored because Aberdeen then had to open up and try and get a goal which then gave us space to play.

It was turgid stuff for 70 minutes but that was mainly because Aberdeen done their job so well in defending rather than us playing particularly poorly. If we had managed to score early on then the game would have probably been a bit more exciting.

 

I didn't actually think we played crap to be honest. I mean we weren't brilliant or anything but I think we played decently, BUT was just not happening in the final third. Once we scored the first goal I think that obviously helped us as we seemed to rise a bit more from that.

Aberdeen done well in frustrating us but thankfully we didn't panic and never resorted to hoofing long balls up field all the time. We kept the head and the breakthrough finally came.

A much needed win.

 

Gotta say, compared to the last three league matches, this was a * of alot of fun

Good to see the sheep shaggers packed out their stadium hope they keep it up

 

All right performance. An improvement on recent league matches, but not outstanding. Great goal from Lassad via Wanyama and generally we looked solid if not inspired.

 

if it was not for the stray passing, we would have never made any attacks at all.
what a poor team we have when you look at it, playing 45 min as if we had the boots on the wrong feet.

Absolutely.

 

I agree. If Aberdeen never passed the ball poorly we definitely wouldn't have had an attack all game. I also agree that our team is terrible.
