Haha I don't think he's really said anything wrong there to be honest.

The man is a professional he loves his club and tbf they hit the post and the crossbar BUT they were also very lucky to have finished the game with 11 men christ they were lucky to finish the first half with 11 and they scored a very 'fortunate' winner in the 93rd minute in camp nou

Lionel messi is one of my favourite players ever, along with him and his two mates inesta and xavi part of the best team i will probably see in my lifetime they are so used to winning you have to realise he will be disappointed by defeat and his comments were more than likely made soon after a very tough contested match

Daily shitord spouting their usual devious pish to create reaction.

I think the Barca players were very dignified in their defeat.

Modern day would have to be Henrik...
Is there an actual link to the interview? Is it on video anywhere?
I have to say that just because the record (or any other paper for that matter) says that someone said something, it doesn't mean they did.
We have all seen and heard people being interviewed, or listened to their comments, and when it appears in print in one of the rags, it's nothing like it!
Wee Messi may well have said we were lucky, or he may have said his team were unlucky. He may have bemoaned the lack of height in the Barca team - he may have said everything the record said he said - but English is not his first language and the intent can sometimes be lost in translation.
Still, at the end of the day we humped them, so he can say what they * he likes - water off a duck's back...:celt_2::celt_2:

    Nailed. :50:

And like yourself, I have very little problem with Messi or Barca - other than that they apparently let the Daily Rectal into their press conferences. :smiley-laughing002:

Papers always sensationalise things, they take portions outa full interviews and twist them to suit their own twisted mentality.....even if Messi said unflattering things,it's just the passion in him spilling over after a major dissapointment....the wee man's a * in the world of football...I can forgive his temporary slip from professionalism if indeed he did say these things.....

Ya cheeky wee runt(that's just Glesga banter) ya wee chimp(that's mair patter) noo get on wae humping Spartak & Benfica ya loveable wee rogue! :icon_mrgreen:

Messi's the lucky one :1. Lucky he was never scouted and signed by Sevco !
    2. Lucky Kelvin Wilson let him oot of his pocket at the final whistle.
    3. Lucky his son is not old enough yet to ask him why his 'greatest team in the world' got spanked by a 'wee' team from Scotland !!!!

Still reckon it's the Scottish rags spinning their usual * !!

Seems like a sore loser to me, but some folk are being a bit harsh on him. We were lucky a little bit, but when you're playing the greatest side to ever grace the game, then you need a bit of luck on your side. Our performances over the two games were more down to sheer defensive quality than luck. They are lucky that the ref added four minutes on in the Nou Camp. They are lucky that they still had Song and Mascherano on the park after 90 minutes in the game a couple of nights ago.

He is * stupid if he thought that we were going to charge at them from the beginning and not leave most of our players in our own half. That's bordering on suicide.

Like I've said before, there is no team in the world capable of playing Barcelona at their own game and beating them at it. They are the kings of football, but we * dethroned them on Wednesday night. The only statistic people will remember 125 years from now is...

    Celtic 2-1 Barcelona.

Couldn't have been summed up any more perfectly. The sign of true class is how someone reacts to defeat and Messi showed a severe lack of class with those comments.

He didnt really say anything that controversial but merely stated the facts . I heard a rumour at work today from someone who knows Charlie Mulgrews agent.Alledgedly Charlie asked Xavi for his shirt on the pitch and he agreed to swap in the tunnel, but Xavi was taken in for routine drugs testing so he wasnt in the tunnel.Charlie went into the Barcelona dressing room shortly afterwards to get his top and there was pandemonium in there. Alledgedly Messi had someone up against the wall going "mental at him"not clear who it was but they were all apparantly but he still got the top.:icon_mrgreen:
