I thought the panel were good. At one point Dunphy talked about Trappatoni constantly saying, how can a small team like Ireland compete with these big teams like Germany.
Then he pointed at the screen and said, THATS HOW YOU DO IT, with heart and fight and organisation and belief like Celtic just showed. or words to that effect. Having said that, rte are usually like man utd tv. thank * we got that game on.

I agree with this and other similar comments. That's why I enjoyed it last night, because it was so rare. Yes they are west brit EPL fanatics and O'Herlihy seems to have no idea of Sapnish Football, Dunphy. Brady and Giles however do

like I said, hoepfully this could be start of RTE treating the Tic with a lot more respect and show some more of our games

What a tool O'Herlihy. Sure Barcelona are no good anymore thats why 10 games into the LaLiga season they are off to their best start ever. Never mind 3-0 until last night in the Champions League.

It won't be mo chara, if there was a more attractive fixture with one of their beloved epl teams on last night, then they would have shown that... The thing that kills me is that they seem to completely ignore the Irish connection with Celtic entirely, the fact that Celtic means so much to Irish people all over the world... Real football fans... Not the epl supporting variety that think supporting a team involves buying a replica top to wear on the weekly trip to the pub to shout at a tv in support of a club that doesn't represent them in any way! RTE to me are just an extension of the cancer that is the epl in Ireland... I have at least given my kids an introduction to the world's greatest football club and one that they can have a genuine connection with as proud irishmen... * the epl...* RTE... Celtic first, Celtic last and Celtic overall!

I had the full thing recorded on RTE and watched it when I got home from training , thankfully didnt know the score. O'Herlihy to be fair is just there to ask the questions and raise a debate, he himself will admit he has no real knowledge of the game.

    * me off how they show all the English games before ours but thats to get the viewers. A lot more United RTE viewers than Celtic.

Hope our last couple of games are shown though now that United's games are meaningless and we still have a lot to play for.

That's not completely accurate. Dunphy for example, regularly slates teams in the EPL, calls players bluffers etc. Their analysis is usually pretty entertaining, much better than the english channels, in my opinion.

The point is, that as an Irish broadcaster they should show more Celtic CL games than anyone elses... Nothing could be further from the truth.. They are a bunch of epl spoonfed *. If you find them entertaining, that's your call man but chances are you're being entertained by epl football if your watching RTE!

Wrong. I don't support english teams . I agree that RTE should show the Celtic games and it * me off that they show Man Ushited matches all the time.
I find the debates entertaining, that doesn't mean that i agree with all of their views.

Sorry man, you misunderstood me... I don't mean that YOU are supporting epl teams... What I'm saying is that 90% of what they show is epl football... If you find their panel interesting, I just think it's a crying shame that it's not Celtic games that they are discussing... * epl drives me mad as an Irish Celtic fan!

basically they said they didn't know anything about the current celtic team (which is pretty poor all things considered) and that they expected an easy barca victory.

cue the patronising 'fighting spirit' bullshit after we got the win...

they'd know more about lee cattermole than victor wanyama.

We watched it on RTE2HD at home, still got that old RTE box to receive the signal, no matches blocked out either.
