With regards to the attendance, I can imagine we were missing a fair few supporters buses from across the water. Getting over twice in one week, and especially on a Sunday is probably a bit of an ask.

That said the amount of people who I know that just went to the Barca game, and have no intention to turn up to another game this season is frustrating.

I am not expecting it to be like that week in week out, but the team must get so much from us singing our hearts out, and perhaps a capacity crowd, in song, may have brought the best out of the bhoys today

The main reason why the attendance was low today wasnt because people dont have enough, money, which of course is true for some fans, but because it was only st johnstone. Its not a glamour game so fans wont turn up, even though they arent there to watch the opposition.

Choosing a bad game to debate that fans should pay to go and watch.

Was absolutely baltic as well, lack of people beside me left me frozen, didn't exactly have much to shout about during the game either. To be honest like the players i think a lot of fans were simply mentally and physically exhausted after the Barca game, my jaw still hurts from smiling too much over the past 72 hours.

I hate all this pish players are tired, tennis players put a bigger shift into playing thro a week than football players, but I do not blame the players this time, yet again team gets changed, why was Watt not on from the start and 3 players subbed yet sam * still stays on and manager admits on radio that he was pish yet finished the game, our dropping points is down to missmanagement and thinking we can get away with this because the huns are not there:38:

    Just cant get enough

    It's true what he says...

With the number of fans we are supposed to have, We should be able to at least make the 50k mark every week.... Lack of interest is the main thing keeping people away I'm afraid. No atmosphere, Lack of quality, and lack of competitiveness, Aswell as the weather and ticket prices, are all taking their toll imo. I'm scared it will only get worse for the rest of the year..

I don't think it is true.

The only reason people are staying away is because we are in the middle of a recession, people can't afford to go to the games.

I honestly believe if Sevco were in the league we would have roughly the same amount of ST holders as we have now.

We have a big enough fanbase to attract 50k people at least each week. Is it only Celtic fans in a recession? TRFC fans seem to be hitting near enough the 50k mark each home game. Can't make that an excuse for all people.

    Oh dear...

Their tickets cost about 2 bob ffs.

Of course they are getting big crowds.

I can't believe you used them as a barometer.

There seems to be an obsession with attendance lately, it is almost as if people didn't realise that there is a large section of fair weather fans in our support. There were supposedly 10,000 Celts in Barcelona and not much more when we played Raith/Dundee in the cups, its not just about money.

Aye, its getting rather tiresome all this * about attendances. People still obsessing over a division 3 club is * peculiar to me because this is what it is all about. People seem to think because Rangers are getting big attendances, we should be too. People wanted our association with them ended, they aren`t doing a very good job of doing so

If we're still this inconsistent in the league during January/February then I'll start getting worried - as of now, yes we should be winning these games but it's not a disaster - yet.

Celtic need to get something done about ticket prices. Honestly I was dying to go to the game today but how the * am i supposed to pull £17 out my * when i only get £30 a week, feel for you older punters who need to pay £30 a week if your not a ST holder. Look at the huns last season, attendances were laughable. Now these Newco * fill up the majority of theyre games an why? Better fans, aye thatl be * right. Cause the smelly * needto pay like a fiver a ticket at most now! Even take a tenner or something off the SPL prices, £15-18 adults £5-7 kids that would get a * of alot more fans in. Every game that has been a fiver since 2009 ive been there without fail, as have my mates, everybodys skint atm you cant ask that kind of money off the fans.

See the over reaction to not winning on here thats disgusting. And i would also say Celtic do take the SPL seriously, after all if you dont win the league its near imposible to get champions league football in the next season.

The league is not won in Oct/Nov/Dec its won over a long period of time, yes Celtic have dropped points, big deal, Celtic will start putting a run together once the group stage of the champ league is over, other clubs will get suspensions, injuries loss of form etc.

We are in the Semi Final of The League Cup and we are in 2nd place in our Champions League Group.

The SPL has been great this season with no scum from the death star, other sides are playing up and we have a challenge, the media said the SPL would be boring without ranjurs, we were all told we need a strong huns, and that nobody would have a chance against us.

The last thing we need is greetin faced Celtic fans saying its not good enough. I have supported Celtic from the late 70's and belive me i've seen some crap in my time, this Celtic side are not as poor/bad as some on here think.

It could be worse, you could be supporting a brand new football club with no history in the 3 Division.

    So cheer up FFS

It worries me a bit that we were one spectacular Forster save away from losing this game.

Other teams have to deal with league fixtures after a midweek European game--almost all of the teams in the CL group stages right now play in stronger leagues than we do. I'm not putting the blame on Lennon, but what are the players/coaches going to have to do to get focused for these games? Is this a 'mental strength' issue?

Nail on head mate. These days I can't even tell you what our formation is, and I don't think the players know what their supposed to be doing either.

At first it appears to be a 442 but then Commons is sent into the middle, Sammy drops deep left and Miku/Hooper hugs the right touch line or drops into midfield. What's that then? 4-6-0? We really do miss Stokes for these SPL games, although Watt is in a similar build so he should be starting with Hooper.

We need a technical player that can dribble with the ball and drag defenders with them, Paddy/Forrest/Dylan (when fully fit). As Dylan was only back from injury, Paddy should have been on for Commons (who even asked to be taken off he was that wrecked).

Mulgrew played well offensively, on defence he was so-so. Wanyama/Ledley, great, although Kayal was choking for a start and one of the other two should have been given a rest.

My biggest disappointment is the lack of squad depth, and/or Lenny's refusal to take advantage of it and rotate the squad. I can't blame the players because none of them played bad, they just didn't play exceptionally either, that is apart from the subs who should have started, Watt and Kayal. That only leaves a choice between McGeouch and Paddy on for Commons, personally I would have started with Paddy and brought Dylan on around the 70 min mark.

Of course, these changes were made.... after the game started, and the last one, Dylan/Paddy for Commons, came in the last 10 mins and was completely ineffective. They should have been made before the game started, but Lennon doesn't like changing up his team and is a bit too conservative in team selection.

Hopefully a lesson is learned from mistakes made. Bring on Aberdeen.
