Kayal and Broony are injury prone. Ledley udually spends at least 3 weeks of the season out.

It would leave us really bare at some points.

Thats when we should be giving McGeouch and Rogic games.

Wouldn't fancy going against a Bayern with McGeouch and Rogic as our central midfielders.

And others, one thing we have is plenty of quality young midfielders at the club to not have to rush to replace Wanyama when he goes.

Brown was injury prone but has since had his operation, he might be fit for the majority of this season. Nobody really knows on that front. The injuries Kayal has picked up have normally been through tackles IIRC. It's not like a Rogne situation where it's something that will occur regualrly. Unless of course, he is totally unlucky when putting in challenges. As has been pointed out, we also have Rogic, McGeouch, and Ambrose can slot in at defensive midfield. Commons has been playing through the centre as more of an attacking midfielder now also. All in all, that's 6 players that can play centre midfield and Commons. If we are unfortunate to have Brown, Ledley & Kayal out at the same time, then it's just rotten luck in my opinon. But I would definitely start with Kayal so he can hopefully find the form of old.

since getting done in of game kayal hasnt been the same player, brown has had injuries as well, ambrose i would punt if the turkish mob come in for him, mcgeouch i dont think he will make it with us i would send him out on a years loan to aberdeen or hibs, rogic is trying to adjust.if vic goes then get a replacement in and please lets get a pacy left winger we are crying out for 1 poss 2 as forrest is constantly injured.

Kayal has never had a run of games in the team to try and find a bit of form again. When Kayal first arrived and was playing regularly, he was the best player in our team in my opinion.

Wanyama will be a massive loss, he would have to be replaced. I'm not convinced by kayal, he can't stay on his feet and he is too injury prone. I'd be quite happy with Ambrose DM he is good in the tackle and can dribble well I think he could be quite similar to Wanyama if coached well.

Kayal's problem has been Wanyama was in his preffered position. Smack bang in the middle of the park, lying a bit deeper than the other central midfielders.

Exactly, but with Wanyama pretty much guarenteed gone, it now allows Kayal to make that position his own. When they are both playing at the top of their game, I don't think there is much between them. They have slightly different qualitites, but they both ultimately play the same role.

Short memories by some if they've forgot how good kayal was in the middle. He was loved for his dogged approach, made some brilliant challenges, coming from behind and clearing the ball. Some player, hope we give him and rigid the chance to take the available slot (yes both different positions, but can be used for differnt games.)

I personally wouldn't mind if we used the Wanyama money to sign two attacking midfielders and just moved Kayal back into Vic's position.

Wee Kayal will be more than good enough to take Wanyama`s place. I would actually prefer an on form Kayal than Wanyama. I think he has more to his game than Wanyama. Its just a matter of getting him fit and keeping him fit

Kayal had to settle for the bench when he was fit which may have knocked his confidence after his first year being so good. If he was giving a cm berth and told only he can lose it, I'd think we'd be fighting off offers for him this time next year.. Plenty to give in defense and going forward.
