Joe Ledley was given 27k a week along with a very large signing on fee when he signed for us because of the loopholes that allowed us to get him in for a free and the vast interest in him from EPL teams.

    Fact.

Our top line is £26k a week. Brown , Samaras and Ledley are all on that. Ledley was given a huge signing on fee and i think he gets a payment at the end of every season also. He was given this due to the fact he was a free transfer and we had to come up with a package that would suit our wage budget but still be attractive to him. Commons is £22k a week, another who was as good as a free transfer as his contract was running out but Derby decided to accept a paltry £300k for him rather than nothing a few months later. Miku and Lassad might be big earners also but not sure. Some of the sums for the other players are way exaggerated.

Got to remember that the players will be taxed on their wages also.

Aw diddums, the poor wee lambs.

Still think Broonie should have been offered twenty grand or less when his contract was renewed. No one else would have come in for him.

These four are on 51k a week combined? :icon_mrgreen: You'd be lucky if they're on a fifth of that. They signed from Stabaek, Ashdod, Derry City and Airdrie and none have been given an improved deal since signing.

Last season when his original deal was running out or before that? That's part of the problem when you run down a contract, you get no money for the player so they or their agent can hold you to ransom. Although I now appreciate what he brings to the team in terms of energy and leadership we would be lucky to get £2 million for him in the transfer market.

Sorry spurs were interested in him when mowbray was in charge but Newcastle was definitely when his contract talks stalled

pointless thread tbh.... we all know footballers are overpaid ( i love the game but don't ever try and justify the wages to me)

regardless of the fact i think the pros are all overpaid pampered gits ( compared to other athletes) i still think its * trying to determine their wage- no-ones business and anyway, you'll never know .

Heard from a VERY good source today, Ledley is on 32k per week with a 4k appearance fee. If I told you more, I'd have to kill you:fear:
