It makes you wonder how proud we'd feel if we'd actually won tonight.

This is JUST below par on the Seville night without a doubt.

This game means a lot to us Celtic supporters but showed the fight we gave to the best team ever (arguably).

Well done bhoys, am sure we can do something at home with our noise.

This sums it up for me as well! I loved the fight and nobody will take this team lightly ever again.Believe me Barca's coach is telling his men that the demise of the SPL is grossly exaggerated! Hail * Hail!:shamrock:

The sense of pride outweighs that of how gutted I am at the loss. I think all the reasons have been mentioned in this thread. :50:

Three games into the Champions League group stages and Neil Lennon still hasn't put a foot wrong with regards to management, team selection or tactics. If we'd had an attack against Benfica we'd have beaten them, I'm fairly certain of that. Sammy going off injured was a huge loss tonight also. It's just magnificent to watch this team and this manager grow. The dark days when I wished Neil Lennon would just take another job just for his own family's safety seem remarkably distant now. And once again, to the wee hun * giving it 2-1 in the Strathclyde Union, zombies should remain underground.

    Great one

I've started watching Celtic over the past year, and today was a real "* yea" moment for me.

Sitting in my living room over in the states watching on my laptop I don't think I moved all game. That final goal killed me, and that was when I knew that I cared.

Proud of how they played, because I know how good Barca is, even happier to be a part of it in my own small way.

I think this is about time everyone took notice of the squad we have. The majority of our players all have a very different playing style but you can see they play for the club, management and most importantly the badge. Playing against a team like Barcelona in the Nou Camp you could not blame any one of the players if they felt a bit in awe and shock but fair play to everyone involved, they stuck it out full concentration and did their best against a team that will no doubt be looked upon as one of the greats.

I feel a bit numb, extreme pride as well as that familiar glorious failure that has become part of being a Celtic fan. I would not change it for the world and its moments like this that remind me what an institution it is I support. It means so much to everyone and although our squad and management are paid a fraction, cost a fraction and have fraction of the experience of the Barcelona or any of the squads in our group, we have given them some serious food for thought.

What a team we truly have on our hands guys, really. Very few times do I bubble over with joy and excitement, I usually try keep grounded but it is very difficult not to see a bright, green and white future ahead.

    Hail Hail.

I'm as proud as any of you, but..... I'm raging that we lost simply because, although we can see how far we've come, every single doubter that said we would get trounced, will now simply say, aye they lost anyway.

We were just really close to having a bonafide opportunity to get it right up all streams of media.

Thank you to Neil Lennon, the coahes and players. Despite the pain of the loss and the timing in particular you did our club proud tonight and to my mind this latest performance is just another example of how much we continue to progress under Lennon.

I remember as a kid a certain Alex Ferguson struggling at Manchester United in his early time there. In 1989 he was on the verge of being fired and the banners were out in the crowd demanding he go. I remember an early FA Cup third round game against Nottingham Forrest which at the time seemed like it was his last chance saloon. He won that day 1-0 and they went on to beat Crytsal Palace in the final to win his first tropy there. We all know what happened form there.

About a year ago 3-0 down at half time against Kilmarnock already miles behind in the league it looked like Lennon was gone. I remember thinking at half time this was the end for Lennon even though personally that wasn't my view. But we all know what happened in the second half that day and what has happened since. Neil Lennon has shown in a very short time he has the potential to become a really top quality coach. If we can build on what we have done as a club and if Lennon decides he wants to stay at Celtic for the long term we may well be in the early years of a man who will end up as truly one of the greatest ever Celts.

I know in certain moments we can all get carried away but this is simply how highly I rate Lennon as a manager and how much I love the man and what he has done for our club both as a player and now as our manager.

Gutted with the result but that just shows how far we have come, that we are disappointed not to take a point from the Nou Camp.

Neil Lennon got his tactics spot on, the players followed every instruction. We ate so well organised now and have a great squad!

    Love the Celtic!!!

Maybe I'm just high off last nights performance, but I genuinely believe Celtic can now qualify for the last 16 and give this Champions League a good go. The big teams like United and Chelsea don't scare me. Only Barca and Real do. I think we could shock some people and make our first quarter finals!

It was a remarkable game and a shame we lost it with the final whistle. That's football but I'm proud of the display the boys showed.

Great performance last night. To push the best team on the planet to the dying seconds on home soil just shows how much we have improved as a team. Everybody gave there all. Lenny has assembled a team that will burst a gut for us, and that is extremely pleasing. GBNL

agree with everyone in this thread, it's mornings like this that make being a part of celtic football club so special. many new celtic fans were gained last night all over the world.

the team grew up last night. Lennon and his staff are building an incredible squad and most importantly have instilled what it is to play for the celtic jersey in every single one of them. we've come so far and im excited about what's ahead, to be gutted at losing 2-1 away to one of the best football sides of all time says it all.

we went into the CL this season just hoping we could compete a little and come out with our heads held high, after only 3 games we've already far exceeded this and actually now maybe only 3 points away from the last 16.

i heard barca gave our fans a treat at the end of the match by playing our songs out over the tannoy, what respect that is from a fellow club that is about much more than football. I simply cannot wait for the game at celtic park.

Totally agree. I was imagining before the game if we got a win, thinking 'if we can beat Barca, who's to say we can't go all the way?' We may not have got anything from the game last night, but we showed we have nothing to fear. We won't face a better team than Barcelona in this competition. In fact we won't face a team that comes close. We were so, so unlucky not to take something, so I see no reason why we can't beat some of the bigger teams.

The way I looked at it, if you can get a 2-1 in the Nou Camp... stands you in good stead for qualifiers doesn't it? In qualifiers 2-1 away is a good * result.

I was gutted when then the final goal went in, obviously. Then straight away the overriding emotion was pride again. We have to be totally delighted with how we performed against Barca.

Outsiders expected us to get hammered and we were very close to taking a point from them. Neil Lennon is gaining us respect in Europe. Putting us back on the map.
