If two or more of your players are on international duty you can get your game postponed if you request permission, if you don't ask in time you don't get, might be celtics fault

    I'm not picky.
Yep, I agree. An organisation that wants to improve standards in Scottish football at all levels and they come out with this *. Just makes them look even more inept as a football governing body.

Pretty much aye. So the rewards for the players playing for their own country is that they get kicked out of a Scottish cup competition.

Just couldn't make it up really and just when we think we have seen and read it all regarding the SFA they manage to pull something else out the bag.

It's not Celtic's fault. They were aware of the rulings and they lodged a petition to have the Scottish Cup game postponed, but - after a delay - it was refused only two days before the game was to take place. Celtic weren't allowed to lodge an appeal either.

It's the SFA's fault. They could have allowed the postponement of the cup-tie allowing the ladies to represent their country and then they would have been able to play in the cup game at a later date.

    SFA = Scottish Farcical Association

Celtic should take them to the cleaners and ban their players from Scotland duty.

The decision wasn't made by the SFA, was made by the SWFA (Scottish Womans Football Association) Two seperate entity's

Love the reason they gave for not postponing the match

"It is understood FIFA's laws on teams legally being able to start a match with a minimum of seven players were repeated to Celtic as a reason."

You have players away on international duty but you still have 7 players so thats ok, you can play with 7! :56:

Anyone know the SWFA president? Williameena Ogilvie by any chance :icon_mrgreen:

    From the article:

Rule 42 of the competition rules states: "Any club refusing or failing to play the club against which it has been drawn, without sufficient reason for doing so, shall be judged to have lost the match and liable to a fine."

Now international duty is not sufficient reason? What possible reason could there have been for not delaying the match? Furthermore, will Celtic be fined as well?

Shocking the fact the game never got moved to another date. I seem to remember a certain team in the 3rd Division that managed to get there game against QOS moved because they had players on international duty. Not that it done the scum any good:smiley-laughing002:. But, also, if the Celtic Ladies knew this was going to be the case then they should have told Scotland to stick there game up there * and remember who is paying the wages.

If ever a story summed up the competence of the people running Scottish Football then this is it.

    Kyogo. A phenomenon
Does seem to be a tad sexist, in all honesty. They would never have done that with their male counterparts. To be honest with you, the decision makers have made a complete * up here.

Marie, Celtic can not do much of anything, I am afraid. There is no right of appeal, which adds to the utter lunacy of the whole situation.

As others have said this is an absolute farce, but yet not surprising when you take into account those that run Scottish football.

Having said that, I think women's football should be scrapped altogether.

There may be no automatic right to appeal but they can, and should, still take it to CAS.

fair enough the womens FA or what ever have said we have no right of appeal, but what stops us from going to the CAS. This is such a historically huge * up from the women's hierarchy it is just out of this world.

    It is a total disgrace

footballers male or female should not be forced to make the choice between club or country

i hope that there is an appeal lodge and the decision is overturned
