I've never been to a Republican march but coatbridge have them apparently, anyone know? They good aye?

I mind me and my pal were walking through burnbank (hun capital of hamilton) with our celtic tops on n there was a walk on (we didny know). * lucky at what happened, 2 fire trucks came down the street at well high speeds n they had to all run off the road :56::56::56::56::56: One of the wee drummers nearly got ran over at the shell garage hahahaha!

Your not missing much. :38: Every bit as pointless as orange walks but with different coloured daft outfits. Same idea: fancy dress marching in an in-your-face attempt to annoy everyone by forcing their one-sided, ill-informed homespun view of history on everyone else in earshot.

I agree with you. That previous statement was poor. There are people living on these shores who do like to remember the likes of Sands, Hughes, McCreesh, O'Hara, McDonnell, Hurson, Lynch, Doherty, McElwee, Devine, Gaughan and Stagg as well as those who died in Derry and Dublin.

Its not the causes I am talking about. Everyone is entitled to their beliefs. I just think marching about in made up costumes playing flutes etc has nothing to do with history or indeed anything and it can sometimes appear pseudo-military. The problem is that people only seem to support rights to march for their own side. I think its better to ban the lot rather than praise your own lot and demonise your opposite numbers for doing the same basic thing-patriotic public celebration of a particular interpretation of history only held by part of society and hated by another part (and therefore divisive). If its badly devisive (which really depends on what its about and where a march is) then public displays are clearly not sensible. People can hold beliefs and take an interest in history in better more dignified more private ways than that.
