If we didn't sign big Foster. How much would a quality keeper have cost us. I think to get someone of big Foster's class would have cost us 5mill+

What's your thoughts Bhoys and Ghirls

    It's Forster * it!
Bit of an odd question. We got a bargain for Forster but Boruc went to Southampton for free.

I'd say Forster is the better keeper now.

I have no idea as I haven't seen Boruc play since he was here. Boruc at his peak was better than Forster is now (at his peak, currently. I think Forster will only get better though). Don't egt me wrong though. I love Forster and he has been amazing for us in all 4 CL qualifying games and against Benfica.

Yeah, I'd say Forster last season was better than Artur's final 2 seasons with us though (08-10). If Boruc is still a top keeper now, why was he without a club until mid-September? I know he had a decent cleansheet record at Fiorentina but the fans never really took to him.

Impossible to say. Boruc was signed for 600,000 and, at his peak, was up there with best goalkeepers we've ever had. We could spend £6mil on a keeper and he'd flop, we could spend £1mil and they'd be a success. It's all about scouting out talent, picking up on new talent before they are spotted by bigger teams.

This. Boruc came along at just the right time - solving our keeper crisis (do we actually remember how nerve-wracking our keeper situation was before Boruc came to the rescue?) and being the sort of top quality player that anchors a squad.

What do we all think about Zaluska though? If we had not signed Forster, would Zaluska be better due to a regular start?

I actually think Zaluska is a great keeper in his own right. Any time I've watched him play, he has very rarely made mistakes and his shot stopping is very good.

I'm surprised that he's stayed at Celtic and played second fiddle to the likes of Boruc and Forster for as long as he has, as he could very easily become the no.1 goalkeeper and get a lot more playing time at another club. He's obviously very loyal to Celtic.

Zaluska is as good as it gets as far as second choice keepers are concerned. i was convinced he was going to leave in the summer but he signed a new contract!

Yep. My point was that would Zaluska be even better if he was our first choice? I think he would.

I don't understand why he's still with us either. To be brutally honest. As long as Forster remains in form he'll get very few games and at his standard that surely is not logical.

He's only staying because he's getting paid well to do so, he said something about he'd go where he would get the most money, because he has a family to take care of, which is fair enough. As far as second choice keepers go he is ideal, good keeper who is capable of standing in anytime he's required to, and a great influence on the squad aswell.

Absolutley - we had Given & let him go, we couldn't afford to buy him back now. David Marshall looked a real talent when he was here too, though he hasn't reached the level I thought he would. Zaluska hasn't really done anything wrong but a bit like Boruc at Florintia, the fans haven't taken to him. I think he signed when Boruc had announced he was leaving and Zaluska looked a cert to take over as no1. Paying big money for a proven keeper is not always the answer.

Marshall's performance against Barca was legendary, and I truly believed he would become a legend. It was sad to him drift in quality and finally disappear out of the club.

I don't trust Zaluska. He has had quite a few iffy moments that worry me.

Craig Gordon is still sitting in the house waiting on a club.

the reality of it all Forster still cost us about 4 million! 2. odds for this years transfer and about 800k for each season he was on loan here. Granted he's paying it back plus some but people seem to think there was only this years fees are missing the fact that you have to pay clubs to loan their players.

Kind of speaks volumes that! a supposed top class player that still cant find a club, some thing's amiss here i recon he's done, injury prone as *.
