    Defend narrow against them and hope for the best. You can't stop the wee guy, hes just amazing. Hes not hit top gear yet this season either and hes still scored double figures (i think) already. Then they have Iniesta and Xavi 2 of the best midfielders i have ever seen just behind him keeping the ball then laying it through for him. Am looking forward to seeing them at parkhead but on the other hand am dreading it cause we will hardly touch the ball.

    Hit him hard and early, probs just get up and run again like wee Jinky used to though, but play solid as a unit, every man does thier job, wins thier own battles and tackle the game that way, not focus on one individual.

    Some great and funny suggestions, but to be serious for a second, we won't stop him. He had a relatively 'pish' game against Spartak on Wednesday night and still scored the equalizer and the winning goal. He is the greatest football player of all time, backed up by another two of the greatest footballers of all time, in Xavi and Iniesta.

    I agree with the person who said that we should worry about their whole team though, and not just Messi. They have so many players that can (and probably will) hurt us over the two legs. Clattering him in the first minute will more than likely result in a red card for us. Plus, its not the Celtic way.

    With all that said, I'm saying 3-0 to Celtic :50:

    I'd show them very little respect. For this game I'd get the high balls into the box, close them down at every opportunity. Long throws & corners are vital, they're not the best at defending set pieces.

    As much as I hate saying this, I think the best way of holding off Barcelona is to play anti-football.

    I'm thinking 5-4-1:
    Forster;
    Matthews, Rogne, Amrbose, Mulgrew, Izaguirre;
    Brown, Kayal, Wanyama, Ledley;
    Miku.
    ​
    Subs: Zaluska, Wilson, Lustig, Commons, Forrest, Samaras, Hooper.

    Defend in numbers and hope to get them on the counter.
