Stokesy should look at riordan as an example of how not behave when at a big club.

Good player for a team like Hibs but not Celtic quality. We could bring in much better.

to my mind you can forgive someone for acting like a wee * when they are 17/18 (that's not to say that all 17/18 YO are wee dicks by the way) but when they hit 25 and are still acting like a * it doesn't mean that they are immature, it just means that they are a * and that isn't going to change.

he had it all set up for himself, he was playing at the biggest and best club in his country and he couldn't even screw the nut then so * him the wee waster that he is.

he looks like a *' hun as well by the way.

He isn't good enough to play for Celtic is the long and short of it.

You can go on about his lack of opportunities here, his excellent shot or the fact he has a good footballing brain but the complete package falls short of what we require.

always thought he had a lot of talent, but never got enough of a chance to showcase it while with us.

also always felt the fans were always willing him to do well, and that he had a decent relationship with us.

met him in town one night and thought he was brand new! bought me a drink and everything, although a couple of hours later he was howlin!

think he just a daft boy the same as most of the rest of us. dont have a problem with him at all

    Riordan Quits China

Skysports.com understands former Hibernian star Derek Riordan has joined Chinese Super League with Shaanxi Chanba.

As revealed by skysports.com earlier this week, Riordan flew out to China earlier to hold talks with Chanba about a possible move to the club.

Riordan was available on a free transfer after leaving Hibs earlier this summer and the Scotland international has now agreed a two-year deal with Chanba after agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.

Riordan's agent, Jim McArthur, has confirmed the forward was impressed by Chanba's set-up and is looking forward to his new challenge in China.

    Impressed

"Derek has signed a two-year deal with Chanba," McArthur told skysports.com.

"He was very impressed with the club when he saw the set-up and the facilities.

"He is looking forward to the experience of playing in China and it is an exciting time for him."

I would have thought it would be more than that. He could have picked that up in England. Would be surprised if it was less than £50,000 a week

What a fall from grace that is.

If he had a better attitude, and worked under a manager who didn't hold petty grudges, then he could have really made it here at Celtic.

    Good luck to him.

He has really declined as a player, this is a smart move for him. Well in Deek.

why would he do that? I thought he'd have had a lot more to try to prove. Serious lack of ambition. Good luck all the same.

Not really a lack of ambition. He moved to a big club, us and it didn't work out for him, mainly due to the giner with wee man syndrome, so why not take this sort of chance? He'll experience a new culture a new way of life. Football or no football, it'd be a dream move for a lot of people.

Riordan's lack of success at Celtic cannot all be attributed to Strachan. His attitude stank and he was a total ned. Riordan at no point in his career IMO was ever good enough to play for Celtic.
