Watt was stand out last year.

Not really mate, we outplayed them for large spells at home but were just unlucky/poor in the final 3rd.

George and Watt tore them new ones.
Two of their goals were pretty jammy as well.

We absolutely destroyed Marseille and Man City so i'm looking forward to this year's group as it looks a bit easier, Sporting are one of the best teams in it though and we'll do well to get a draw tonight.

Shame they're not playing it at CP any more

fair point, but maybe a stretch to say large spells.

If we do anything against sporting I'll be delighted. The Portugese youth system is just excellent.

Shame that we'll be without George, Watt and McGeouch for this.

They were the three standouts last year.

Bit silly of Celtic to schedule this game the same week as U-21 internationals are being played as we may be missing some of our best players, even worse is that I don't think Portugal has a game so Sporting maybe near to full strength

I hope some of last year's youths feature. Or else we'll be without George, Watt, Twardzik, McGeouch, Fraser, Irvine, Herron, McGregor, Chalmers ... basically our entire first XI who did great last season.

If we've just got 17 year olds out there we'll get pumped!

It's not Celtic who scheduled it, is it though?
Will be the nextgen organisers and UEFA, highly doubt Celtic had any say on the matter.

Would`ve went to see this tonight but got my own training. Sporting Lisbon youth set-up is quality and it should be a good test for our lads.

I think if it was the organisers that were scheduling the games the dates would be much more uniform, as it is the match days in all the groups are all over the place and much too random, its clear that just now with the competition still in its infancy much, if not all of the organisation of when matches are played are down to the clubs themselves getting together after drawn and deciding when to play each other.
