Okay fair point but by the same token I highly doubt Broadfoot was the worst Hun player in their 140 years of history, I mean was he even the worst Sevco player in their 2 months of history?

You honestly believe in over a century not one player has been worse than Balde?

balde was * class apart from his last few years... so his ball control wasn't the best he made some unbelievable tackles and can you imagine seeing him running at you? enough to scare an opposition. can't believe he's been mentioned in this thread.

Exactly, Balde was a defender at an SPL club, albeit we and the SPL were much better in those days.

Were people really expecting him to have the control and touch of Iniesta?

Even if you're just going back to the MON days, here's a few defenders worse than Balde for you:

Thompson, Loovens, Majstorovic, Cha Du Ri, Naylor, Sylla, Du Wei, Virgo, Braafheid, O'Dea

 

Aye he wasn't the most technically gifted but as a defender and the job he done there hasn't been anyone better since he left.

Our next exercise is to worked out the difference between what we paid for these starting elevens and what we got when we sold or released them. Major losses all round, I sadly suspect.

Chris Killen has too be omitted... his goal against Gretna avoided a painfully embarrassing defeat, i mean its like been relegated to the 3rd division and losing to stirling albion.

 

Lols at including Balde and Varga! Come on guys! They were both superb defenders. Varga was a great defender for us and scored quite a few goals!

Danny Fox and Mo Camara? Did you guys not watch them going forward? Especially Fox. Lots of teams wanted him within 6 months. He had a clause in his contract to say he could go back down if a big team came in at the right price. Championship/Epl. Great LB for us.

Mental suggestions.

I really think Killen would make the squad. I always remember seeing him as a sub during a European game, seriously he looks he runs with weights on his feet. He was terrible.

Shiedt of course. I mean how could he not. What was the general feeling on keepers? Gordan Marshall never ever inspired me.

There are some players from by gone era that would probably make the squad also.
