I am not contradicting myself at all. This isn't difficult. I asked earlier in the thread what the Spurs fans had done to deserve a beating. I asked because I hadn't seen the telly or press enough to get the full picture. So far no one has given me any information on what the Spurs fans did to merit the beating. What people have offered up as an explanation for the beating (including you) is that they must have been doing something to deserve it. That the police would not attack innocent people. That is wrong. Many innocent people are victims of the police in many places in the world. To think that the police never attack innocent people is naive.

You seem to want to be pernickity about the difference between having a reason for doing something and having good reason. I am asking you if you know whether or not the Spanish police had good reason to attack the Spurs fans. You know exactly what I mean by that, it is not ambiguous. If a total psycho stabs someone in the street at random - then the psucho has got a reason for doing it - he's crazy. Clearly though that is not a 'good reason'. That's what I mean by 'everything has a reason". It doesn't make it a good reason though.

Do you know for a fact what the Spurs fans did to merit a beating ?

I have never said in my posts that I knew they didn't deserve it. I only asked what evidence had made you decide that they must have done something to deserve it.

You are right there are two sides to every story. Saying that they must have done something to deserve a beating from the police, without offering any proof, is only considering one side.

I don't know what happened in Seville to cause it. But neither do you. So why do you presume that the Spurs fans must have provoked it ? Is it really impossible that the police could be in the wrong ?

U obviously dunno what ur on about. The fans were charging the police....so does the guy in the wheelchair charge as well cause he's easy gonna pole-vault over the plastic glass seperating the fans.

And the hooligans r well on the same level as september 11th arent they? I mean if sum1 steals give them life along with a mass murderer cause they're guilty anyway right?

We blame english clubs for violence but remeber twice of late it has been aginst italian clubs, the same country in which a policemen was killed, itailian clubs should suffer!

Well fights have already broken out outside Old Trafford ahead of tonights games, this coming an hour after the chief of policeing saying he was confident of no trouble...

Was always going to happen, it wasnt going to be avoided.. From what ive heard a lot of firms around Britain are * off about what happened last week, some Cardiff & Swansea boys I know have gone up to start trouble with Roma fans and ive heard a lot more from around Britain have gone up to do the same..
