The more money being put into Celtic, the better. Infact, I would go as far as actively encouraging any and all Newclub fans out there who want to jump ship to do so. It's not too late and you can still be saved. Think of it as a sort of rehabilitation programme. After all, we have strong charitable links dating all the way back to the date we were founded :50:

Iv got a few hun mates and if anything they are more proud to follow rangers than ever ( hunbelievable right? )

Tbh if any of them switched their allegence to Celtic I would lose a bit of respect for them. Once a Hun always a Hun.

I would absolutely love it if Celtic really did hoover up some of the clubless ex-Rangers. A lot of people just fall into support a team because of a relative rather than a concious decision. There have always been floating people too who have families with tims and blue noses. I think the sheer amount of mixed families is very underestimate and IMO Celtic would be more of a natural home to them. A period like this could make the relative support of Celtic and Sevco swing somewhat in our direction. Not everyone is a tribal diehard who supports teams for historical, political or religious associations.

So Celtic is an inclusive club apart from for half the population of Glasgow? No point in saying we are inclusive to all ethnicities etc but not to the only large other group in Glasgow.

Nothing to do with ethnicity mate , couple of my hun mates are catholic. I welcome any ethnicities to CP. It's just changing your football team is not on IMO. Your ment to stick by your team through thick and thin even if you are a Hun.

The only circumstance I would find acceptable is if your a more of a casual fan who roots for a team but isn't really a die hard.

On second thought maybe losing respect for them would be a bit harsh but I would certainly struggle to take them seriously as football fans . Hope this clears things up ....... I'm no bigot!

A lot of people are saying 'Once a hun, always a hun'

BUT....the huns are dead - they don't have a club to follow - Sevconians are a new breed, albeit very similar to huns - if a little more bitter.

If a few of them realise how corrupt Rangers were and decide to actively not support any new false iteration of them i'm all for it, keep in mind that I didn't say they had switched allegiance, just that they had decided to cheer Celtic on and not support new rangers / sevco.

I think a lot of Gers fans will not want to watch that dross down in the lower divisions for three years, so some, I emphasise some will jump ship to watch Celtic in the SPL and Champions League. I am not saying they will become Tims, but they will want to watch a better class of football, its entirely understandable if you are a football devotee

So if we (Celtic) ever went under, could you go over and support the rotten mob (if they were alive).

Sorry, but no Hun could just change his/her "Loyalty" and start supporting the Hoops.

    You're at it.

Fair enough but not everyone takes the footy so seriously or sees a football team being some sort of moral commitment that must be stuck to. There are a lot of people who dont take it that seriously and just dont feel that they owe a lifetimes loyalty to any team. Bit like 'floating voters'. I know many people take it very seriously and its important to them but that is a choice.

They will just watch on Telly ?

    :97:

I am struggling to come to terms that people here are saying Huns will turn to watching us for better football........Fucksake,this is the same Hun team who have played the equivalent of 3rd Division football for the past number of seasons.

    Wise up.

When Rangers were winning 9IAR I knew some Celtic fans who started supporting Rangers. Maybe you would call them not real Celtic fans or Glory Hunters, but they still did it.Not everyone is a die hard fan, you get floaters in the moderate middle.

I'm also finding it very hard to believe this story. If it had been some young kid I might have been willing to believe it. But in 50+ years I've never met any Celt or Hun * yet who has switched allegiance.

There is no doubt that kids from less hard line or mixed backgrounds who could go either way will gravitate more towards us though. I know that is not the same thing as older fans switching teams but it is an interesting thought. The power of wanting excitement and decent football should not be underestimate. A good example of this is the Dundee teams. Dundee were once vastly bigger than Dundee United who actually were often not in the top league. I believe they had 30-40,000 crowds etc. In a few decades he role was totally reversed and Dundee United were the big team with the bigger support. I heard that Dundee could not even sell their allocation of 5000? tickets for the Dundee derby, the first in about 7 years. IMO there are a lot of people from families who support a mix of teams rather than solidly diehard families and given years of one team being far better than the other that can provide a significant shift.

Can only add this, a mate of mine knew this lad who supported the huns years ago and went to the bigot-dome but stopped going all because certain huns around him found out his name (Paul) after a couple of games after this he couldnt take the intimidation and threats anymore and stopped going to the hunnery, the guys a celt now.

I dont get it. Maybe im a bit slow on the uptake but what is wrong with the name Paul? Is it maybe because the pope at the time was called John Paul? Is Paul a name of catholic descent maybe? Could some please elaborate it appears i may be a bit thick :52:

So that would be like us giving a fellow tim hassle at games for being called Billy?.....thats shocking!
