I guess it wont be easy to get tickets through Celtic if like me you dont live in Scotland and dont have season tickets. But whats your experience on getting tickets outside the stadium on game day? Or buying tickets online to their home games?

Anyone been to Lisbon before to watch Celtic play? Was it easy to get tickets? Did you enjoy the trip or should we chose Barca away instead?

All tips and information very much appreciated!

Thanks from a Swedish Celtic fan.

If I were to buy tickets online from the Benfica site and wanted to be as close to the Celtic section as possible, do you know where the Celtic section usually are in their stadium?

Lisbon is a better trip than barca definitely, but having a chance to watch celtic nou camp is special. Its down to personal opinion.

Benfica will have loads of tickets on sale on the day for anyone worried, dont tend to get much more than a half a ground for the group matches unless its one of the top few teams Barca/Manu etc

    Ok. Last question

Maybe you cant answer this but based on your prevoius trips to lisbon, do you think it is possile to buy tickets in the celtic section even if you Buy them on match day at the the stadium or do they not sell tickets to the section where the away fans are located on match day?

We really really want to be among other Celtic fans.

    Cheers :shamrock:

I've been to Benfica once - we were in the top tier behind the goal. Don't remember what the section was called however.

There were plenty of folk selling tickets at the ground on the night the last time I went to Benfica. Some of the bars at the harbour had Celtic songs and Irish ballads playing and it was a great Craic.

I just booked a hotel for me and 3 mates, four of us going over for this one. Trying to sort flights out now but flying Scotland to Lisbon seems to be very expensive. Think we're going to drive down to Liverpool and fly from there - saves 60 quid a head which we won't be using in petrol :50:

Has anyone came up with a total cost for their plans yet? A few of use are considering making the trip but having never done a Euro away day it would be good to get an estimate.

8 of us going, half booked Glasgow - London - Lisbon and back and the others Edinburgh - Paris - Lisbon and back.

£140 - £220 in total for flights for most of us. skyscannet.net is really good for planning this sort of thing.

Myself and four mates booked Liverpool to Madrid, Madrid to Lisbon with easyjet which worked out to be just £84 each return. We've also booked a cheap four person room in a hostel for the grand total of £20 each with the additional one person in a private double room at the cost of £30. So all in so far we've spent £104/£114 but we've still to make our way to Liverpool and back and get ourselves a match ticket :50:

Booked flights for me and my missus from gatwick to lisbon and back for 120 through easyjet. I don't know why anyone would fly with anybody else!

Also we have a 16 person apartment for the week in lisbon that's costing about 50 quid each for 8 of us. Less than 200 for travel and accommodation. Just gotta hope we get some tickets now.
