To be honest people just like the way the club is run, the fans, the players and the manager. The same thing happened when Barcelona started playing beautiful football and winning things, people started having a soft spot for them and their fans.

Barcelona fans don't belong in the same sentence as Dortmund fans, vastly different supporter cultures, the former being inferior to the latter by a large margin.

Barcelona's atmosphere is rubbish, you've got to admit that, they couldn't even fill out the Camp Nou to celebrate a title victory.

Barca have no affiliation with the gritty, unfashionable Dortmund whatsoever, they are kindred souls with fancy dan Bayern, if anything.

Being perfectly honest, the Nou Camp is a library on most matchdays.

98,000 fans and you're lucky to hear a peep from them unless someone scores. Up there with Old Trafford and the Emirates as huge stadia with no atmosphere to speak of.

There is literally no away supporter culture in Spain, all Barcelona fans can do is whistle.

Talking about them and Dortmund together is hilariously moronic.

I would imagine the large unemployment in Spain and the economy in tatters has a major impact on supporting your team away

Historically there never has been a significant away supporter culture in Spain on par with the rest of Europe, it's a cultural, geographic and social issue, not an economic one.

Interesting article, No wonder such culture hasn't developed going by the hurdles that are mentioned.

The attitude of the supporters being the main one.

Didn't Barcelona bring only 1,000 or so of their fans to us for the CL game?

Edit: Also aye ok maybe mentioning Dortmund and Barca fans in the same category was a mistake but a lot of Celtic fans I know seem to have a loving relationship with Barcelona fans, this is why they have a 'soft spot' for Barcelona.

Aye I'm not disputing that, most Catalan Barca fans are really lovely people.

On our day Celtic fans are very, very loud. On European nights we're the best in Europe.

But in terms of consistently good atmospheres Dortmund is well ahead of us.
