    Can't believe I'm reading online some people don't want him and think he's too old. The guys football brain is incredible. He'd add so much knowledge to the team and I'd imagine attract more punters to the game which in turn could cover his costs.

    Sion are out of the running as well. Celtic, Spurs and Braga left. I think we're in the strongest position to sign him.

    It would be amazing if we signed him. Hopefully not paying crazy wages though. I can't see it happening but we can all dream.

    This would be fantastic for the club in my opinion. The main reason being, the squad in general would learn a lot from Del Piero as we have such a young group of players. I know he is 37, but this guy has been playing at the top level right up until that age. So that tells me that he is not completely over the hill unlike Ljungberg when we got him, who had been playing in the U.S and was already on the way down.

    In one of the Aussie papers that his brother who is also his agent was in lengthy discussions with the head honcho from Sydney FC and the feedback was good. They have offered him 2m Aussie dollars a year (works out about 25k a week in our money). He said he'd give them a decision in 48 hours

    Technically it could. He's a free agent and they can be signed and registered outside the window. Although it's have to be before CL deadline. Not sure when that is though

    I haven't got anything on the back of my jersey in years... felt I was too old for that.

    But if he signed, I'd feel like a wean again... Del Piero 7 on the back of the Hoops :icon_mrgreen:

    The guy representing Sydney FC with Del Piero talks just tweeted "getting warmer". Follow @Lou_Sticca if you want to follow his updates.

    :50::50::50:

    Celtic FC would suit del piero this stage in his career, * league standard with some glamour ties in paradise, like mentioned before hes come from Serie A not the MLS like our last 'marquee signing'.

    freddie ljungberg was a panic buy and totally different scenario.

    there's lots of Italian's in australia...that might attract him over there.

    would love to see this happen. Play him at home in CL and in home league games - have him passing his knowledge onto the young guns.

    Apparently Sydney presented him with a video package showing about the league, the lifestyle he would be getting over the Australian summer and the legacy he would leave if he played here. Would like it if he signed for Celtic but it would do wonders for the game here.

    After toying in my head with the idea I've thought to myself, * it!

    Even if he turns out to be too old and * who cares? What price can you put on fans excitment and enjoyment? He would be a remarkable signing given who he is and what he has done in his career. His name itself evokes memories instantly.
