Pinch of salt as always, agree with other posts that caught offside shouldn't be considered a link. Watt will be here for many years to come I'm sure :50:

Loving the unanimous reaction to that article. It's almost as funny as its content. Almost.

With the reaction in this thread, imagine the sheer collapose of faith in humanity and utter butthurtisim if Man Utd announce the transfer of Mr Watt before deadline day.

How ever I do agree, file under complete and utter bullshit.

Man utd? He'll be lucky to play for Wigan or West Ham. I'm not old but I've seen hype like this before and I've seen fans get well to overly excited. Mark Burchill anyone?

Oh no, you have went and done it now mate. Que barrage of comments to prove you wrong.

I happened to say something similar in another thread and got beaten down to the point where there was no point in replying.

For what its worth, I can see your point. :97:

Why the need for posts like this? You're saying that the best he can do is Wigan? He's already playing for a better team than them as it is.

What have you based your judgement on? 5 senior appearances for the club?

He already has 4 goals in 5 - 4 from the bench - but that's only in the SPL. :54:

No offense mate, but to offer an objective point of view, what has his very big reputation got to back it up, the same stats.

Fact is, I don't think Man U will be splashing the cash on Mr Watt, just yet. Which suits me just fine, I am happy to watch him progress to whatever level of ability he reaches. Which does look promising.

    Cheers uncle ho :D

My point is he'll be lucky to make it to a team like Wigan. He's not "made it" yet has he? We've seen a lot of young players who look really good and it just doesn't work out for them. I'm hoping it does, obviously, but the way people are going on, it can only go wrong from here...

Like I said, just because he's played 5 games for us, doesn't mean he's actually "made it" yet. I hope he does and saves us millions on a striker at some point. Just don't think we should get ahead of ourselves.

Ps. I was just saying Wigan or West Ham as a comparison to Man Utd.

I agree. He's been great so far, but let's just watch his progress and be careful not to overhype him. Two words: Mark Burchill.

Think there is a massive difference between Watt and Burchill. Burchill believed his own hype and thought he was the *. I have no doubt he would have had a better career if he was more level headed.
Watt seems to have that, and imo a lot of that is down to Neil Lennon. Forrest hasn't exactly thought he was a world beater after some top performances. He's got his down, works hard and wants to improve.

So that for me is the massive difference. Watt - grounded, level-headed lad who seems to be more eager and determined to make the grade. It might not work out but he certainly is showing the signs of a good player, and if he listens to the coaches and senior players at Celtic there is no reason why he can't do really well here.

As for Burchill - he could have had a much more successful career at Celtic but his attitude was poor. Simple really. Can have all the talent you want but if you don't apply yourself correctly you're just setting yourself up for a fall and that is what Burchill did.

Actually forrest is not a prime example, I cannot comment because I have not seen it myself, but people have said they see a difference in forrests playing attitude. bit more primadonna.

I think naturally, any young player can fall into this situation.
