I should * hope not. It's heartening to see however how many have come around (myself included) to back Sammy. A year or two ago I think the majority of us would've bitten someone's hand off if they offered 3mil for him. Now though, there's no chance we'd replace his contribution for that. I think it's a testament to the player and the manager that they've been able to turn him around to become a vital member of the squad.

 

l've not read through the thread so it's probably been said but 18 months ago l would have paid for his flight to Moscow but once l accepted he was'nt going to score 20 goals a season and started contributing to the team in different ways l've kind of warmed to him. l think in away games in Europe he's invaluable.

 

This kind of thing makes me sick to be honest. I remember when Sammy signed a new contract people were absolutely raging on here. I can recall a game against St Johnstone last winter at Celtic Park when he was continuously booed by sections of our support.

Now he's proving how good he is and everyone is jumping on the band wagon.
It's a good job Sammy has excellent mental strength because if he didn't he wouldn't be playing at the level he is now as he received no help from the majority of our fans when he was struggling.

We should support everyone equally in my opinion, regardless of performance. The same is beginning to happen with Kelvin Wilson. Some people just can't go without a scapegoat.

 

this time 2 year ago possibly last year! i would have sold him for a packet of crunchy nut cornflakes and a pint o milk! now!! the man has been brilliant played a lot better and now we are starting to see the sammy we all hoped for! still no 100% great of course but for 3m euros(apparently?) they can go kiss ma * on that * tho.

I agree with some of your points, but why are you "sick" that people are coming round to your point of view? I thought the whole reason people posted on here was to voice their opinion and hope that people jumped on your bandwagon.

It makes me sick because people are so fickle and only support players when they are doing well, not when they need it most.

 

This time last year yes now the last 2 or 3 months of last season and this season he has been out most valuable player next to Ledley IMO.

 

Best form since he got here. worth more than 3 million.

 

Why not support him then when he was "*" ? That's what we should be doing. Getting booed off your own fans surely isn't going to help matters?

Sammy is one of these players who just needs a hug. He seems to feel loved at Celtic. He won't want to leave.
