I'm of the opinion the board will wait for us to qualify for europe like they said, and then tell us how it was too late to do anything in the transfer market and not invest in the playing staff at all.

Probably sell ki as well, rake in about 20 mil and put nothing back in. Miserable much? :56:

Haha, the only way we'll get a world class defender is if Commons plays in their:)

Fuckit man, we need a flying machine in midfield and a bit of a beast at centre half. But, when the shape of the team's their we're alright.

We have enough to sign at least 1 player..we get something like 2.3M for the play off plus gate money and we have about 6M from KI plus the Europa league money at least. We should start negotiations with clubs for a 2nd player and sign him if we get the champ league, if not we can always pull out. The worst thing we can do if wait till 2 days before the window shuts and panic buy or end up paying more for a signing because the selling club will hold out for the extra ££ because it is so close o the end of the window. Get the finger out Celtic!

One thing about tonights performance is the fact we have just opened a door for players that more or less now know they have CL football.

Great days to be a Celtic fan, who says we needed the filth again ?

What's the situation with Michael Ciani? I remember us being linked with him with the asking price being around £2m, but it faded out. Is he still available? From what I've seen he'd be a great addition to the squad.

Dont think we need to sign anyone by next week. But we do need to sign someone by the end of the window.

And to people saying sign Rhodes... we cant afford him, forget it. 6 million is a ridiculous price for a player who has only played in league 1. I'd be happy if we signed a CB and Russell (and maybe GMS aswell).

We will be contacting the shortlisted players now imo. We cant wait until after the second leg on the 29th to start trying to buy players as you only have 2 days to get it done! I will still expect one signing in before the second leg as we do have guaranteed european football till December and we'll have to * things up big time not to be in the UCL.

Russell is who I'm hoping comes in but we definitely need a CB aswell. Kelvin Wilson as 3rd choice CB is just not good enough, I near shat myself when he came on tonight!

    Agree:50:

Would love to see a really good signing coming in the next few days,CL football has to lure in what we call marquee signings
Would be a massive push in getting season tickets aswell imo

If we cant really push on now and really improve the club as a whole then when can we eh?

Our midfield is generally strong but too many of our player's there have similar attributes. We are seriously lacking a proper playmaker - Ki was tidy but for one reason or another ultimately didn't fit the bill.

We looked very flat tonight and void of ideas, as a result we were closed down easily or forced to play launch it.

I think a CM would take priority along with a Centre half.

Going into the CL with Mulgrew and Rogne is just a laugh. Both are hopeless at defending!

Just not true at all, i would say that we need better for the CL but to say they are hopeless in general is a pretty poor statement considering Charlie was the leagues best player last term and Rogne is probally our best CB.

To be fair he was more than decent, when he came on, in fact we looked much more solid at the back after that.

In general this season I've felt he's been alright, showed some improvement and could live with him staying. Although having said that we definitely need improvements in that area and if Wilson gets sold in the process, then so be it.

Don't agree with the bolded part at all but I do agree in principle. When you think about it we really only have 3 players (possibly 4 if you include Lustig) who can play at CB in our whole squad. Add into this how injury prone Rogne is and how inconsistent Wilson is then we really, really need to add a defender sooner rather than later. Otherwise we could have a massive defensive crisis on our hands at some point over the season, particularly in Europe.

priority for me is Ciani or this belgian CB we're linked with this morning.
after than i reckon the pace Russell would bring to the team is needed.

we saw last night how Forrest's pace worked.

i reckon we'll have 2 new signings by end of next week.

it's a tough one given the fact that we simply don't have any proper money that will instantly be guaranteed to improve the team. yes we need a centre back, but spending 2 or 3 million on a guy with experience really only means we're shopping in the majstorovic category... it actually says quite a lot for the lads in the squad now that we have to spend over 5 million on any player to improve the team - ok, maybe not at CB.

would rhodes or russell do better than hooper at CL level this season? we can't afford rhodes anyway, never mind a striker with a proven track record on the big stage.

m'gladbach have spent 30 million this summer and look how badly they done last night. we're in a different financial world to championship clubs these days, never mind the champions league, the fact that we're on the brink of being there on practically no budget shows just how well lennon and the club have done to build the squad we have. man u's squad cost over 200M, ours probably cost less than 15M.
