    Hi Guys,

Due to go on some SFA training for Mini Kickers as we want to roll it out in our nursery. Training is today and the guy I've been in touch with has just emailed to say we will be playing outside on 3G pitches.

I haven't played football since I was a kid, we are training to teach under 5's so I don't imagine it's going to be overly technical stuff, but will we be allowed to play on these pitches in normal trainers?

    Cheers

Trainers are fine on 3G pitches, as are boots with blades. Steel studs are a no-no.

Rubber or multi-studded boots would be best on a 3G pitch im sure.

    Copa's would be ideal.

Trainers are absolutely fine on 3g if your just teaching kids. Rubber moulded boots are fine also, just depends what you prefer and feel more comfortable in.

yep... trainers are cool no metal studs what so ever... and if its SFA mini kickers the coaches should be checking for metal studs and if they are found the kids wont be allowed to play

Slide everywhere wearing trainers on it if it's wet. Better off with

Thanks bhoys, trainers were grand as it was nice anyways. Really good course, lots of drills I would never have thought could be adapted for under 5's.

Was a bit intimidated walking in to a room full of coaches decked out in SFA gear and clearly more technically able than myself but had a good time, learned a lot and, in the end, didn't feel too out of place.

Nice start to the working week :celt_2:

    Mini kickers annoys me...

Im a coach of under 6's and the SFA 'rules' for that age group is no goalkeepers kids constantly having a ball at theyre feet and any time ive ever watched a mini kickers session they do everything we get told not when getting our badges!
