It is still a fiver (took the bus a couple of weeks ago for the Aberdeen game at home) and a return ticket is only seven pound.

We got a white taxi outside the airport which cost 26 quid. Was only 20 quid when returning to the airport. Was between 4 so same price as the bus really.

Silenzio I wouldn't really recommend the hotel, they were looking an extra tenner a room for an early check in at 12. Otherwise it's 3 o'clock check in which I thought was a bit late. Room was small and basic but very clean. Bathroom was like a modernized boat cabin, very compact. You could literally have a shower, * and shave all at the same time lol. Other than that it was dead on for what we needed it for.

Not having a go at anyone in particular but over the years have seen some awful advice on here regarding hotels.

I had a long spell out of Scotland so for many years I had to use hotels when I was coming back so know almost them all.

For me it really is this simple.

    1. Premier Inn/Travelodge are always the best bet especially if more than one person, clean, comfortable with no hassle, the one time I complained about neds in the next room, straight away they returned me my money for the stay, you wont get bollocksed by them like some places Ive been

    2. Avoid anywhere on Renfrew Street, been to about 5 there and all were dodgy, unclean or just plain weird

    3. Always check laterooms.com, be surprised at how many decent places you can find even 4 stats if you are lucky at the same price as Easy Hostel, Renfrew St b and bs etc.

I know some people dont care one way or another but walking into a shithole that stinks is never the best way for me to start my weekend when it didnt have to be that way!

Thanks, mate. A clean room is all I need. I just booked it for the Benfica game. It is only for one night and I will be alone in the room, so it should be fine. I wanted to try it out once on my own to see if it is ok.

Charing Cross is the other side of town, I think you refer to the Premier Inn at Ballater Street (which is indeed close to the Brazen Head).

Ibis Budget, Travelodge (if you book early enough) or Eurohostel probably your best bet for private rooms that are cheap.

This season I also stayed in Easy Hotel once. Rooms are extremely small, but it is ok for just one or two nights.

.we know all about the Scottish hospitality, my husband is from Glasgow, as are all my kids, and we lived there for 25 years, but our family are all scattered over the world, and now we are simply going back as visitors, as we live in Spain, and haven't been to Glasgow (without staying with family ) for years!

Alamo Hotel B&B (large guest house) £20pp.per night
    Argyle Hotel £40pp.per night
Merchant Lodge (City Centre) £29pp (Think its room only)
You will get all the info under bed & breakfast in glasgow.
