What players do you think would play well in a different position from the one they're seen as being a players in. Was just thinking about it there reading the Twardzik thread.

    Buffon
    Ronaldo Drogba Ibrahimovic T.Motta
    Rooney
    Hummels T.Silva
    Marcelo Pique D.Alves

How do you think that team would get on if they played Holland or Chelsea or someone?

I just made up most of that team but I think Rooney would make a good defensive midfielder, Drogba could probably play at the back no bother and Ronaldo a good right-back. Ronaldo could probably play a whole season at right-back and score 20 goals when you think the amount he scores just from penalties, freekicks and headers from set peices.

Would be interesting to see a player like Drogba, rather than * off to China. If for the last few years he played in defence in training to pick up the basics as strikers usually come to an end when they dont have the pace any more but they could probably go an extra few years playing at the back if they were good enough.

Am I losing the plot :56::52:

Doesn't count if you play Buffon in goals

Not a * chance Ibrahimovic would play at centre back - big * would go in a huff :icon_mrgreen:

Althougjh, I think out of all of them, Rooney would be the one that could adapt best to that position :50:

This thread reminds me of Jorge Campos at 38 seconds of his video. I know that he also played as a striker at times but to do this when you are playing in goals is amazing.:56:

The keeper at 1.22 of this vid goes one better.

Good team, I think david luiz would be a good midfielder or a striker.

    Can tell it's pre-season :56:

I genuinely think Valdes would make a good CM, his passing ability for a Keeper is unreal

Rooney would be great DM, I always wondered how he'd do in that position as he does track back a lot (for a striker anyway) and is pretty strong.

Aye, hes strong, quick, always shuts down players and has a great range of passing. He also plays best when facing the goal rather than with his back to goal, I think he'll play in CM when hes older and not as quick similar to Scholes.

What about Niklas Bendtner at CB? He won almost everything in the air against a tall German side. Don't know whether he would be able to change position as easily as Sutton did though.

He played there at Chelsea in the Champions League and did very well. He's very strong and could run all day
