Delighted with this deal.. Between 6-8 mil for a non starter? He was behind ledley, brown, wanyama and kayal in the pecking order for a place in the starting 11 anyway. Honestly don't understand why people are actually * off at this :56:.

Sky sports sources say they believe it too be 5 million with possible add-ons

Same. Though, now that we know what we're getting, I'd like to see us spend some of it, especially if we get past Helsingborgs.

I'm disappointed in the money for KI, but if we get Dobbie as well then we would get a more creative and direct player who would score more goals. Dobbie would break down the 11 men behind the ball defences that we now struggle against i.e. Ross County:87:

that money will probably go towards paying off debt to keep in line with financial fair play regulations regarding breaking even... debt riden clubs will be banned from uefa competitions in a couple of years...CL qualification will release money for players and attract a better player IMO

On the 1 hand it's disappointing we never got more coz he'll go on to do very well, but on the other it's been made clear we need to sell before we buy. He wasn't in NL's plans going forward based on his appearances in the big games (accounting for injuries) last season, and he doesn't take priority above at least 4 centre mids. Why keep him when we can strengthen at the back and maybe even up front as well if he goes then?

We have more pressing priorities elsewhere with regards to recruitment and clearly need to generate some cash. I'd rather Ki's sold than Wanyama, which was probably the alternative.

We're not running critical with our debt. Hope something stalls up in personal term negotiations. It'd be in our best interests to not have Ki leave now.

Can't agree with that. If we don't sell now his value will plummet and that is something we can't afford to do. Aye we'll get £6million now, that would be £2-3million in January.

No your right they are not critical but if you leave them unserviced they will become critical. I personally think Ki is way overratted and is not even a first pick so I think its good business. We have some good youth players and scouting system so I dont think he will be that missed.

How long's he got left on his contract? If he's got 18 months or less come Jan, then we have to do what we can to get a fair fee now.

Not if we do well in CL, with Ki a part of the team that racks up good result. We should wait till January to sell. But, the foolish board did the damage.

We'll get through. We encountered problems in the SPL because of a lack of creativity. Since McGeouch is injured, waiting on the sale would be prudent. And in the meantime, using Ki vs. Helsingborgs might not be a bad idea to get around the creativity shortage. Europe has large and generally well kept pitches. Don't see why Ki would play bad.

Ki himself did the damage by saying he wants to leave. I, personally, don't want a player at the club, whose heart and mind are not in it and want off.

So you reckon we should keep him just for CL games??? He cant play consistently in the SPL where we ply our trade then hes not right for Celtic, and too turn down 6 million plus for 6 games(not guareenteed) for a squad player is madness. Thanks for the memories Ki but its time to go.

almost in his last year of contract, 6 million is good, 15% is always good, arsenal and liverpool were interested if he impresses and they want him swansea could afford to wait off for bigs like 10million, thats a nice 1.5 for nothing :50:

    great business :50:
