Because most Scottish teams are in pretty poor state and offer us nothing? What can we learn from playing the likes of Morton or Abroath, for example? Nothing. We need to play against more developed clubs with different styles.

We'd get to prepare for the season somewhere with top facilities and getting away for a bit can surely only help team spirit.

You've missed my point, its not that I have a problem with the travel to Germany or that I think its the same as going to Australia or the US, I just don't see the point in playing German 3rd and fourth division sides, the standard is lower than Scottish division one, its a completely pointless exercise in my opinion. At least when we go to the US or Australia we give our worldwide fanbase a chance to see the team and we make quite a bit of money.

The clubs we are playing are arguably worse than Scottish first division sides. They will be around the standard of blue square premiership teams I'd imagine. the Bundesliga is a good league and so is the 2 bundesliga but after that there is a sharp decline in quality. Its not like England where there are four decent leagues. The third division in Germany is like the Conference in England and the fourth division is even worse.

    Hello,

just wanted to say that even though I can understand that most of you are not too exited about playing a german 3.division team, most fans on our side are really exited that one of the great names of european football will play in our stadium. I hope that some of you will make the trip anyway.

Our ground is a bit old fashioned (to put it nicely), has a capacity of nearly 11.000 with 1.300 seats, the rest are terraces and a nice fence around the pitch which invites to climb [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQWP3_n0LsU"]Stuttgarter Kickers Humba 04.05.2012: * Enzo - YouTube[/ame]

We don't have really have pubs around the stadium like for example the London Road tavern, but a nice car park behind the stadium with beer benches and beer and wine being sold out of a caravan. you can also buy and drink beer inside the stadium and enjoy it with a *, as we have no alcohol or smoking ban.

So welcome to Stuttgart everyone :50:

A stadium with terraces and alcohol?

There will probably be 25000 Celtic fans going in that case :56:

As a local I will be at the game, too. The last time Celtic was here was in 2003 against VfB, which I still remember. If you need for your trip some information or help just ask me.

One of my mates and myself are traveling up from Cologne, Germany. Wondering if anyone is traveling up to the game from that direction as well and if so by car/train/horse carriage?
