The red kit is actually nicer - as is the badge.

If they want more over to buy the stuff why not a * red away kit which they'd likely buy anyway? * muppets. Shame for their fans.

I get the impression these owners are overestimating the global potential of cardiff, while underestimating the importance of the local fanbase who support the club week in week out.

Strikes me as silly but has anyone explained why the strip has to change? What markets demand red strips, or are they just more popular in the far east?

FFS who really cares about Cardiff city in malaysia I'm sure over there they with the right marketing they'd buy the normal blue strip.

Just read on another forum that Cardiff are £72m in debt and losing £1.2m a month. Can see that they need to generate money but do they really think that this re-branding is going to achieve it? I don't think it will and Cardiff fans should be raging that their club is being treated like an executive toy.

Think it is just a sign of what football has become. Feel sorry for Cardiff fans.

Are the supporters not, as a whole, in uproar about the change of colour?

Do you think re-branding the club will help at all with the financial difficulties at Cardiff?

This might not be the case methinks.

Perhaps these Malaysian dudes aren't exactly our type of football thinking fellas - but are obviously business folk.

Most times when someone takes over a failing business - they try to re-brand and re-sell it to the public.

I can see why they are doing it, and I suspect it may pay off if they can raise enough capital for players and finally achieve Premiership status :50:

To be honest its about 60 /40 in favour but the 40 are the hardcore fans from the old days ( since we got the new stadium we got about an extra 6 thousand maybe more new fans who see this as nothing to them) i for one am gutted that it has come to this we have had plenty of chances to get to the prem and have blown it. Will it bring extra money well im in dublin for a couple of days and whilst drinking the heaven that is guinness i thought have they done this on purpose? People in wales will buy the blue top and in malaysia they will buy the red ?

Definitely mate. I think it's a massive risk. Would go along with what Sween said, they could be over-estimating the global potential of Cardiff. However, I think it was the Cardiff chairman that was on SSN yesterday, he was already talking about what the money is going to be spent on, he seemed pretty sure it would be quite the success. I'm not quite sure how this will go.

Craziness, if it's not a stadium being renamed is the teams colour being changed. Fans won't like this at all.

    how old are you 12?

this going ahead is probably just the start of things to come, regarding if it works out or not.... I think rules should be in place to stop people like this bastardtising clubs
