And having some one at the club with a drink problem (if true) being leaked into the media wouldn't be good for the clubs reputation would it? Or is that irellevant aswell?

    FFS what utter *!

The man loves Celtic, he would never do anything to deliberately harm the club.

Clearly though, he has been having personal problems - his marriage has broken up recently and he’s been caught drink-driving on a couple of occasions. So obviously things are not all well in his personal life. I suspect this is probably the reason behind his dismissal, although nobody can be certain, I can’t see there being much else. Thommo and Lenny are very close.

I’d rather he was given some time off and some help.

That's all well and good then. It's perfectly okay now that Thommo is gone because, heck, now the dugout has more room :56:

Your not quite getting it are you?

my computer literate seems to be failing when it comes to finding the one wich says it's a fact he was dismissed due to his lifestyle!!!:bbpd: witch you claimed was the case... I can also give you articles witch claim he was dismissed because lennon wanted to go a different way with his coaching style. I don't then come into threads shouting my mouth off claiming this was a fact:rolleyes:

Fair point. Not really indicative of a drinking problem though but fair to speculate.

Just heard the news, very sad, a great player for us and part of a title winning management team this season! :50:

Whole thing looks like it hasn't been handled very well, though I do sympathize with Neil having to sack a friend from his job for whatever reason.

All the best Thommo wherever you go!

IF he was sacked for personal problems then it's a poor poor show from the club.

I would hope the club would stick by someone in bother and offer them help.

    All a big IF though

From what seems to be going about he was offered help numerous times (after the driving thing and after his wife left being 2 of them) but refused it.

If it is the case then there is only so much you can do for someone if they do not want help.

If it is down to personal problems, then the rumours we've heard could simply be the tip of the iceberg. Also, who is to say that the club haven't offered him help? - perhaps he refuses to admit he needs help. Perhaps Lenny was going to offer him some kind of ultimatum at their meeting in Newcastle. Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps...

We don't know anything as yet, but barring something incredible coming out, then the club is very much blameless at this point in time.

    Agree with all of this.

I wouldn't have thought it would be down to lenny to break the news to him though, I thought that would have been Peter Lawell, or someone more senior than Lenny who would have done it

Lenny would have thee final say in who is or isnt in the backroom team or for that matter the team, this would not have been undertaken without his consent ,he will know no matter how hard this was ,the club is most important and the manager has to make difficult descions .
