have u seen a handsome hun
wee shooders will grow into it....but its still too early to bestow that on the lad. i cant think of one outstanding talent among our squad......everyone is roughly as talented which makes us the strong unit we are....interesting to hear last night whilst watching socceraid that a certain dutchman is looking for a club......and he's on record for praising our club.

We should have closed the thread after this post, totally agree with it.
Realistically, no-one in the foreseeable future will ever be worthy of the number 7, and even if they are - there still never going to be Jinky, Dalglish or Henrik.

It may not neccessarily have to be retired completely but i would say wait until someone worthy enough has committed to the club and ready to take it on - extra pressure included.

Never again do i want someone like Scott McDonald to be just 'given' the no. 7 jersey because 'no-one else has it'.

Giving the no.7 to forrest wouldn't be fair. Any progress he's making would come to a standstill when he realises the pressure suddenly heaped on to him. Let him grow into his 49, rather than have him try and fill someone elses number 7.

Totally agree mate, I'm sure Larsson would be proud to have the number 7 passed down onto a great player with such talent.

No rush to give someone it in my opinion. Players that are worthy of wearing this jersey won't come along often. Give it time.

Retiring numbers is a daft idea.

What's missing is someone that can bully the oppisition defences. Someone that is always a threat in the air when we're whipping balls in. A player like this is a must for us IMO, firstly because we get so much joy on the wings at home - we could be taking further advantage of this. Secondly because when playing silky football doesn't work away from home, we need a plan B.

I'm not talking the big battering ram type with no ability though. I want a striker that's a threat in the air, strong and has an eye for goal. Bring him in this summer along with a CB and we're laughing. Two or three quality signings and I firmly believe we can push onto the next level.

We need big built players that can knock down and crush the opposition, the type that make the opposition want to run in fear or feel nervous going for the ball. Imagine if we were playing rankers newco "under 18" first squad with the likes of Balde and Hartson...lots of letters from mommy would be getting sent in to Sally lol

Totally agree with this, a target man with a physical presence and a bit of guile would boost our attacking options, it's something we've been missing for a quite a while.

An experienced CB is also required, i don't think we need any more than 3 or 4 players, hopefully we can off-load a few of the existing squad players along the way.

Whenever Celtic find someone as special as Henrik Larsson again they should be handed the number 7.

This :50: Someone like JVOH or Chris Sutton is what we need. If we get a player who can do what the poster said then our team will be almost complete IMO. The question is, who can Celtic bring in who is within their budget and can do the job?
