Agree, regardless what you think of him as a player, to call him a clown seems unfair. Seems a nice guy.

As a player , if fit he would be a brilliant signing. Keeping him fit will be the worry but im sure if we were to go for him the board and manager will have thought about all this.

In his day, Owen was a cracking player and would score for fun up here, but he has too many injuries for me to want Celtic to go for him. We need to go for guys that would improve the team but not sitting on the sidelines, however you'll only get a couple of games before he would be injuried again.
I would have loved to see in the hoops a few years ago, but he'll probably stay in England now

Most of you guessed... although, it's not Basil Brush or Michael Owen! The great Archie MacPherson will be joining us on CTV tomorrow

his post isnt related, but why mention him? :87:

    I'm not picky.
I'm not sure about this one to be honest. I still rate the guy but he's made of glass so not sure like I say. I think it would be quite a bit of a chance in getting him in.

Like other people say, if he can keep himself injury free, I think he could do a job for us. But that's a big if really.

Odds have gone from 50/1 to 10/1 on him signing with us. Hope not mind.

He'll get injured just walking up the steps to the front doors of Celtic Park...pass.

would destroy the SPL and would bring our game on in the CL.

he'd be injured 90% of the time and would be a passenger, however.

Mentally he will be five steps ahead any SPL defender, physically he is 5 steps behind any SPL defender. He is to big a risk at any cost be it 10k a week or 100k a week, would be like throwing money into the wind.

Even if we get him on a pay as you play we would need to budget for the money he could get and this could be used to get someone else in. The only way I.d take him is after the window closes if all else fails.

Michael Owen tweets: 'Nothing to confirm just yet, will be an interesting few days now that the transfer window is closed.' So he still doesn't have a new club.

I reckon this is the striker Lennon was talking about on SKY Sports.
