I understand alot of TC will have grown up in Glasgow but in your opinion where is the best place too live?

I was brought up in the small back water Protestant place called Sanquhar but hightailed it when i was 16.

Ive lived in the Gorbals, Govanhil, Kingspark/ToryGlen. Whilst working in Caslemilk, Toryglen and Brigeton

As a TC member and Celtic fan + an ex student i would recommend a student rent a flat in the gorbals b4 handing over there loan/bursary to west end landlord bandits.

Anyway my question is where is the best place to rent in Glasgow?

I stay in Cardonald, and think it's great. Has everything, except a decent boozer. But just for shops, bookies, easy access into the city centre or Paisley.
Quiet enough as well, ned wise even though it's inbetween Pollok, Penillee.

But apparently Dennistoun is becoming somewhat of a student haven. Personally thought it was a shitehole from what I've seen of it, but there's supposed to be some regeneration project up there.

I stay just at the edge of Hyndland.

I think it's a decent place to live. Not the cheapest but within walking distance of everywhere I need to go.

Bit off topic but whats eastehouse like? I was talking to lad from Glasgow and he had a black eye and all I asked him what happened, said he got the * kicked out a him by a hun in easterhouse, for whatever reason I thought it was a Tim area.

Like quite a few areas, they've done it up so there's not as many high rises and ugly looking flats, but the same scummy people in it lol so i'd say it's not as bad as the old days when it was one of the worst places for murder, but you still don't exactly wanna go there on holiday.

I've walked around it and at night before and had no problems, just neds mouthing off.

I live in Dennistoun and think it's quality, seems to have really gone up in the world. Only about 20 mins walk from city centre, Paradise - everything you would want :celt_2:

I mind one time I walked through Easterhouse a few days after bonfire night and all the close houses had the main door missing, asked my cousin why this was and he said that they kick the doors in and use them for the bonfire, I thought it was hilarious at the time cause I was only like 11. Dont know if he was serious or just taking the * :56:, anyone from Easterhouse or near confirm that this actually happens?

As some have said Partick is a decent place to live, might cost a bit but there is everything you could ever need within 10 minutes walk and its 10 minutes for a train right into town. There are quite a few neds though but it's not a major issue. Scotstoun is also alright, but there is also some neds, gangs etc and fighting alot plus it's further away from the City Centre. Scotstoun does have a massive sports centre though which is great and now a 30,000 seater rugby/athletics/hockey stadium where the Glasgow Warriors will play next year.

The best place would be Jordanhill even though it is (mainly) full of posh * and it would cost an absolute fortune.

Just before you cross the bridge to Moulin, round from the bowling green.

What school did you go to? Ross Hall/Penillee, or Lourdes?

Still is mate, the pubs still stand both pollockshaws road and the vikyroad have 4 or 5 each. There is still an immigrant population but nothing different from when them fateful pubs where built
