[Help] DVD Region lockouts

    Hi guys,

    So there's this TV show I want to watch, but the third and fourth DVDs haven't been released in Region 2 yet. I'm happy to buy from the American Amazon site but before I can do that I need to know if either a PS3 and/or Laptop is likely to be affected by a Region lockout in the same manner as a DVD player.

    Would I be able to simply play a Region 1 DVD on my PS3 or Laptop or would I have to activley break through the lockout like I would with a typical DVD player?

    Not sure with the PS3 but just download VLC player on your laptop and watch the DVD's on that, it ignores any region restriction!

    Think the PS3 is region free ie it'll play anything.

    You could easilly make your dvd player region free. Google for it. 2 minutes and you're done.
