I like the idea of the 3-5-2 we have the perfect squad for it and noticed that Wigan have been playing a 3-5-2/3-4-2-1 formation in the premiership and that is working a charm for them just now

What about a 4-4-2 except push Commons and Forrest up a bit and have Izzy and Mathews as wing backs. It will still protect our flanks and offer more width in attack.

I'm not a fan of it at at all really. It worked under MON for a while but that was largely because we had lots hard running players, with Larsson and Moravcik providing the creative spark. However it's outdated and workmanlike, especially without a creative playmaker of Lubo's ilk. It suits pragmatic italian teams but I would much prefer a 4-4-2 variant to be honest.

At the last bit about the midfield; the obvious question there is: isn't that why we have Ki here, to add that flair?

We have to find a balanced midfielder, one with a bit of dig and can still make good passes. Ledley has shown he has the ability to be that player (assist to sammy at ibrox last season) but we don't see it out of him. Were looking for a man with Nakas ball playing ability and Broon's grit. That raises more questions like where can we find such a player and could we afford him?

Ki is obviously not the answer to this. He's a great player, but I think when he plays there's a lack of composure and dig in the midfield when we are on our back foot.

There's more questions than answers being raised with this team, just the spot were in in the SPL is not an ideal position for a team that wants to grow.
