If you need to be told why it matters that you can only name two players from over 100 years of history then I think I'd better give up this debate:56: So I didn't know about Rosenthal from years ago and I didn't know about "another". Over 100 years ffs. That's like saying it's ok they didn't sign Catholics for 100 years because they hired a janitor with an Irish granda' by mistake once.

This is pretty much how I see it. We can look at any league in Europe pretty much and conclude that their country is horribly racist and violent based on idiotic football fans. Thankfully in the real world outside of the silliness of the old firm, few people I have met (if any) give a toss about "catholics" v "protestants". You will always get violent nutters, but I have seen nothing to suggest that it is a "widespread" society problem.

Not being funny either Sween but I get the feeling you are a bit removed from the real world and I doubt you've spent much time in schemes with actual average working class Scots. I can assure you bigotry is alive and well.

Guys I think the older generation myself included do get embarassed by some of Lennys antics and of course he wont get sacked for his antics after all Lenny was the cheap option by the board .

I am not at all! I have never lived on the west coast so to be fair I have no idea how bad things on that side of the country. I support celtic as my dad and grandad are glasgow born, but I am utterly distant from the west coast culture.

But I grew up in a very working class area. Went to a working class school and have many working class friends. I played football for my catholic school and played club football for the local team that was made up of pretty much a squad of rangers fans. I wouldnt call them "protestants" as such because I dont think they really had any notion of it but they certainly came from the "other" school. And I have lived in Fife, Aberdeen, Dundee, and Edinburgh. It is funny because as much as I get the feeling you dont believe my (lack of) experience with bigots, I find it hard to imagine all the supposed bigotry that is out there that I have missed.

Alright, i gave examples but apparently it's not good enough for you.
You're using Rangers as an example of bigotry again though.
Out of all the teams that play all over scotland, in every league, does anyone really give a monkeys about what religion the players are?
I go to lower league games up and down the country and it never comes into it at all.

Outside of being at a celtic game, i have never been a victim of/heard anything bigoted.
It's not as widespread as you think.

Glasgow doesn't represent the whole of this country.

@ muffito'tea there is 2 examples in the last decade of players who have been warned about making religious signs at ibrox or have and have been treated terrible for it. also I'm sure alex ferguson could tell you a thing or 2 about what happens when you are involved with Catholicism at there club he got chased and abused for years because he married a catholic

Light years away from O Neill in terms of professionalism and conduct sadly.

Martin O'Neill jumped into an oppositions dug out and pushed the opposition manager and he has done it more than once.

What has Neil done that is worse than that?

I havent seen O Neill arguing with teenagers on Twitter yet. Lets be honest Lennon is constantly on the wind up to oppistion fans also.

    When was this?

The only person I remember doing that was Strachan V Artmedia.

Also... didn't Strachan run up to confront a bunch of sheep at Pittodrie?

Done it Advocaat and done it to Pardew earlier on this season as well.

Strachan done it as well, as well as arguing with fans. People just listen to the media coverage regarding Neil.

O Neill is probably the most passionate man in football. Childish stupidity is not his thing however. Lennon constantly goads oppistion fans when we score ect.........it dont look good im afraid. Also the fact remains that if he gets involved in * for tat nonsence on twitter ...a certain amount of young neds are gonna see him as fair game, which is sad and disgusting but he needs to be more careful really.

He celebrates when we score. Show me where he has 'goaded' opposition fans when we score? That's blatantly untrue. Infact the man Martin O'Neill you brought up there celebrates far more than Neil did when he was on our touchline.

The twitter thing I don't care about, I think it's a good way to talk to fans direct instead of going through a blatantly bias media.

However, I just don’t remember MON confronting Advocaat.

They tried to keep the ball in the dugout and Martin ran after, gave him a wee friendly bump out the road along his way :56:

Some man is Saint Martin :50:

so he should stop using twitter because people want to abuse him on it and rightfully so he sticks up for himself and he doesn't always goads opposition fans he did it last season once at dundee and that was because it was a last minute winner if you mean his jumping up and down then look no further than mon as the master of that
