Wanyama for me. I remember I was on holiday when we signed him and I was more excited about Bangura probaly because of his pricetag. I was wrong.

Quite funny looking at the poll - over 50% of the vote for Forrest when Vic and Fraz were both ahead of him in the senior POTY award.:56:

Just as the senior award was a tough call with so many strong performers it is great that the Young player award is equally hard to pick. I just went for Thomas Rogne in the end as I felt one of the keys to our great run this season was when we got a healthy and more settled back line and Rogne was just a huge part of that.

Forrest, very good season and his performances promise even more in years to come. Only 20 years old as well, still has a lot more to learn and gain more experience.

His game vs Hibs in cup (4:1 I think) was one of his best games, hopefully he matures and plays like that more often.

James Forrest. Best young talent at the club. The rest are replaceable.

    James Forrest.

His form has dipped lately but he is an absolute star and was a huge player that got us out of that bad run.

Forrest for me. Quality young player. I hope that he will remain professional and focused on achiving his goals and that he will keep on developing.

    It's gotta be Forrest.
When on form he looks like one of the fastest and best young wingers in Europe. He will * up teams in the CL next year.
Shame some Killie * injured him in the final, we really missed his flair and pace versus the huns.

Very honorable mentions to Matthews, Rogne and Vic who except for a few games have been fantastic.

Wee Forrest has stuck out like a sore thumb this season when we've not be playing well, always wanting the ball and taking on players he's played 40 odd games this season which is a lot, so his form tailing off recently is not surprising for someone so young.

Been our only spark of creativity from midfield at times this season, especially the first half of the season and has chipped in with a few goals as well.

Hopefully he's even better next year!

Mathews or Wanyama. Forrest had a decent start but he just can't seem to pulled his thing in the big games. I'm gonna give it to Wanyama. He's been a brilliant find and gave some very good performances.

He created our goal and most of our best chances when we beat the huns in December, was brilliant away to Udinese (a much better team than us currently) and almost single handedly won us games which were must win during our poor period.

When we played * versus the tax dodgers a couple weeks back - he wasn't playing. That's no coincidence.

So i'm sorry mate but that quote is bollox!

Forrest for me all day long, but every young player mentioned is going to hit fantastic heights hopefully with us here at Celtic :50:

Bollocks in your opinion. I thought Mulgrew hit a corner in and Ledley headed it in? Don't remember her him being great at all in Europe. He had a good start to this season (except Europe) and drifted a bit. We have been coping fine without him. Great prospect, good player. But I rate Wanyama and Matthews above him.

Wanyama for me. I don't think it's a coincidence that the defence started looking more secure and we started winning more consistently once he started playing regularly.

I wouldn't argue too much with anyone saying Forrest or Matthews though.

Forrest made the run and had the shot which forced the corner from which Ledley scored :50:
And in Europe he was quality away to Udinese as I said. I think he played in all or most of our games in the EL and we did very well in the hardest group, and our first time in Europe with this squad, so it's not fair to say he didn't do anything in Europe.

We coped without him yes but we looked distinctly average when Forrest was not in the team making attacking runs.

Thats not really setting up the goal though, but he wasnt bad in that game. Ive always preferred Brown on the right and Sammy on the left. Thats when we play best imo. We didnt look that average scoring 6 past killie without him :56: :50: he can create but i just think he choses the wrong option a lot, and has a bit to learn yet, still very good, just prefer Wanyama for the award.

    Broony!
All contenders - maybe not Ki (but more based around game time, as opposed to my usual Ki comments :icon_mrgreen:)

Wanyama defo in with a shout, as is Matthews, Rogne and Forrest, although Forrest has tailed off a fair bit in recent weeks...but then he's done pretty well for most of the season!

Good to have so many contenders!!!

    Hail Hail
