Shut your face you wee runt! Despite what your brainwashed PC generation are told there is * all ethnic cleansing involved in most of the western crusades ! Pillaging and killing yes, but GTF trying to say ethnic cleansing ! If it was any one doing the cleansing it was those Turks when trying to rip up threw Eastern Europe. Stop trying to be some sort of uber left wing do gooder and go and learn the history. Half the reason they were out there was to push them back from trying to come in to Europe with their savagery !

during the 1st and 2nd crusades at least, Turkey was in Orthodox hands in the form of the Byzantines, not Muslims, so i dont see how that has any relevance to your argument in the slightest. And as for it not being ethnic cleansing - what else do you call massacring Jews and Muslims in Jerusalem and replacing them with European Christians. I think it is you that needs to learn the history pal. The Crusades are possibly the darkest stains on European history - so you can stop your revisionism to try glorify mass slaughter to fit your Islamophobic views.

Anyway - back on topic. * Real! Fascists and whores.

But seriously though, I dont really see the big deal. Just another reminder that we are all just supporting big business. Im sure every other club would do the exact same if they had the opportunity to make some more money - celtic included.

It's a shame that tolerance doesn't seem to work both ways on issues like this.

Madrid have changed their badge a few times over the years. This doesn't really bother me in the slightest.

You are both right, but I don't see why the cross is a problem. When I saw Inter shirt, it reminded me on new Serbian top. There is a cross on it. So, does it mean we Serbian NT should change their shirt when play against non Christian teams?

So, if this Turkish top isn't a problem to me, I except the same from others.

Totally agree. They sold themselves for money. Football whores.

What do you think, would Beşiktaş change their logo? I am sure they wouldn't. Even if they would do similar thing, I wouldn't respect them and they would be spongers in my eyes. If it is a part of your tradition, be proud of it. I am not a Christian fanatic, but I if it is a part of Real tradition, why would they remove the cross?

They changed their crest so as not to offend anyone, I don't see why this is even worth a thread.

    Who would it offend?

It's changing there history for a quick buck, for one of the biggest, most historic clubs in the game that is a complete farce.

Especially when it is something which is not the slightest bit offensive.

Jesus is considered a prophet of *, in the Koran.
But they deny that he's dead on the Cross.... just because he's a prophet

Looking at it from Madrid's point of view, you can understand why they wouldn't want to alienate a lot of fans whose pockets they're currently trying to get into. Christianity doesn't seem like something that Madrid want to present as part of their image either. I wonder if there are any Real Madrid fans that feel strongly against this.

Having said that, I feel that anyone who would be offended by a cross on a badge is petty in the extreme.

    :56::56::56::56::56::56::56: Good rant.

    But seriously - their savagery?

Are you not forgetting it was Islamic society which preserved the culture and science of the ancient greeks, which provided the basis for our modern civilisation? At a time when good old Christian Europe was burning people at the stake for witchcraft, or for saying the earth was round?

Islam was renowned for its tolerance to other religions. That's why so many great Jewish scholars settled out there - rather than be stoned and persecuted for "killing Jesus".

But luckily we had the good old Western Christians to put an end to the "savagery":

"The Saracens were massacred in the streets and in the houses. Jerusalem had no refuge for the vanquished. Some fled from death by precipitating themselves from the ramparts; the others crowded for shelter into the palaces, the towers, and above all in their mosques, where they could not conceal themselves from the
pursuit of the Christians. The Crusaders, masters of the mosque of Omar, where the Saracens defended themselves for some time, renewed there the deplorable scenes which disgraced the conquest of Titus. The infantry and cavalry rushed pell-mell among the fugitives. Amid the most horrid tumult, nothing was heard but the groans and cries of death; the victors trod over heaps of corpses in pursuing those who vainly attempted to escape. Raymond d'Argiles, who was an eye-witness, says that under the portico of the mosque the blood was knee-deep and reached the horses' bridles."

Reckon it's you who needs to "learn the history" :50:
