Last time an Championsleague final was held in a stadium under 60000 was in the 03/04 season Arena Aufschalke stadium wich can hold 52000 people.

08/09 season was the closest to our stadium. Stadio Olimpico Rome with 62000 people.

It would be great to host one. I remember a few years ago we came top of a 5 Live poll to find the best stadium in Britain. This was before the Emirates and New Wembley, but we still came above the likes of Old Trafford and the Millenium in a poll with a predominantly English audience, so that shows the stadium is well regarded.

does the team/organisation who owns the hosting stadium actually get any financial benefits from hosting it? or is it a "we use your stadium and you get the privilege of hosting it" kind a thing?

Our stadium was built on the cheap, as was needs must at the time, it has more poles than Livingston Tesco.

The dressing rooms and main stand also need upgraded before we can host European finals.

The surrounding area is a complete eyesore as well. As others have said, the Commonwealth games should help that cause.

60k isn't really big enough. I'd imagine it should be at least 70k.

Hampden only holds 52,000, yet had the Champions League and UEFA Cup Final in recent years.

Increase the Main Stand and we'll be able to host a Champions League Final ...

... or better yet, be IN one.

"THE CHAMPIONS!" *shiver down my spine*

    Mon the Hoops!
