You should,as the "foreigners" in question are clearly Irish

If you have a problem with a specific journalist why mention his nationality?

When I sing Ooh Aah Up the RA (and i dont ever do it in Celtic Park because I wouldnt want the club to have to deal with the unjust consequences) I sing about the men who stood outside the GPO. About the men who fought for Irelands Independance. I honestly couldnt tell you anyone who sings the song about the more recent IRA who bombed Omagh and everything else. They are a completely different entity. When we sing the Celtic Symphony at Celtic Park we are singing about the same IRA that the Wolfetones sing about, a song which is freely available on iTunes for * sake!! Why is this song even banned in the first place? It's just an Irish history tune about a group of freedom fighters who the Queen laid a wreath in memory of just last year!!

Same with the boys of the old brigade.

The mind boggles. Does anyone here sing about the Real IRA? or the Provos?

What has living in YOUR country have to do with it. Is a prerequisite to having an opinion on Celtic to be Scottish.

If this article appeared in the English media would your reaction have been the same or is this just your anti-Irish bias showing through.

From the paper that praised the "restraint" of the Paras on * Sunday, I wouldn’t take too much notice.

In all probability, the writer is autistic.

My opinion would have been the same if he was English, Welsh, French or Italian ! Celtic play in Scotland, and this guy doesn't live here or follow Celtic so I don't know how he can start making judgements on our fans. If he followed Celtic then fine, because he would be aware of our club and would be able to make judgements on fellow fans.

My main point is he is not from here (so is not regularly around the support or sectarianism as he suggests is present) and is not a Celtic fan, so isn't even regularly around our support or following our club. So how can he have a valid opinion ?

Am past the point of caring about the tabloids sticking the boot into us, just because it's a distraction from a grisly reality if you're a Rankers fan. Mind you maybe my opinion is just a "crackpot theory"? And as for Celtic getting hit hard if and when Rankers go bust? You need to get your facts straight, or risk incurring the wrath of Pistol Pete!!!

It would be outrageous for any newspaper to say that. For an Irish newspaper to say it is, frankly, disgraceful.

Any attack on Celtic in Ireland usually comes from this newspaper or its sister counterpart – the Sunday Independent.

Let me point you in the direction of Kevin Myers – one of their esteemed hacks – who stated that propaganda had ruined the Black and Tans fine reputation in Ireland.

I have to agree with you there the Irish Indepandant has always been a far right paper that really is a big business PR spin machine at best and at worst as you so clearly show above and in this disgraceful attack on Celtic.

The men in the GPO where the IRB not the IRA.

I would sing about the Provisional IRA from the late 60's, 70's, 80's and early 90's... because i respect what they were trying to achieve.

Even if they are seen as "terrorists".

The Real IRA on the other hand are not really much to sing about, they kill catholic civillians who join the NI police force and are mostly involved in drugs and stuff like that. They are scum.

I think you just need to sit at Celtic Park compared to Ibrokes and have a look around this forum compared to hun media to see the difference.

Yeah you get the odd drunken sectarian rambling at CP but it's always ignored or put down, we don't need to hand out wee books at our stadium to stop our fans being *.

Hun Media is so rife with bigotry that you can only stomach it for so long before you log off, yet any of that * here results in a ban within minutes.

In general terms, that's the difference.

The Indo/Sindo is one of the worst, most unashamed propaganda pamphlets in the world...and I am aware of the appearance that may give of being an exaggeration. The horrendous thing is: it is simply not an exaggeration. Similarly, the sad thing is there is/was a significant and decisive portion of right wing and/or gullible Ireland that swallow their crap.

Their entire raison d'etre, almost from cover to cover, is to propagate half truths and straight out lies. They are actually worse than the Mail in Britain, imo. They continuously scheme against Sinn Fein in particular, and I would genuinely be surprised if Mi6 was not one of their sponsors, along with the other shadowy vested interests propped up with the assistance of Sir Anthony O'Rielly and his media empire.

Take no notice of that article. They have committed far worse lies to print, will do so again, but are (thankfully) slowly morphing into an almost parody of themselves in the public's view.

Therein shall lay the victory over them. Sinn Fein are now close to being the largest party in Ireland, despite their long campaign to prevent this.... and they hate that their web of deceit no longer carries the weight it once did. They hate it... and because they are based on lies and hate, in the long game, the long war, whatever you want to call the like of that... people in those kinds of positions rarely ever prevail.

Have a look towards Govan for proof of that.

    Hail, Hail! :celt_2:

The Provisional IRA are "terrorists", you don't need the quotation marks mate. When you start blowing up bombs in shopping centres and killing innocent people and *, you become a terrorist, like it or lump it.

Alright lads, let's try and steer away from the IRA stuff and get back on to the subject of the article in the OP. :50:
