I think we should really consider bringing back o'dea..
the lad is doing well at leeds, he just won the fai internation young player of the year, done really well tonight against czeck republic and is almost certain to make the plane to the euros...
He would be like a new siging for us, all of us want celtic to sign a center back so instead of spending 2-3 million why not just get o'dea in!! i personally think he is better than big maj and possibly better than k wilson!!

He has said that he would like to make the Leeds move permanent.

Also, the reason he wanted a loan was because of the lack of first team football he was getting at Celtic, and with the way Rogne and Mulgrew are playing at centre-half I can't see him fitting in as a regular starter.

While it would be nice to have him back on the team, I just don't think he fits into our starting XI at the moment.

First off, as he said himself, he sees his future lays down south. There have been plenty of opportunities for him to secure a first team berth and IMO, Rogne & Mulgrew are the first choice pairing, backed up by Kelvin Wilson. With the way our defence is performing, even with a few 'rotations' for injury/suspensions etc, there really is no justification to tamper with what is working.

The way I see it, the only reason you would bring in another CB is if it is one that is better than the one you already have. With that the premise, the question you need to ask yourself is, 'is O'Dea better than what we have at the moment?', to which the answer is 'NO'.

    Here endeth the lesson.

yea he is better.. i agree rogne and mulgrew are the best cb's and im very happy for them to be first choice for years to come.. but i think maj and lovens will both be gone at end of season and imo he is better than wilson..
so if maj and lovens go we need to buy.. which i think is stupid when we have a good back up in o'dea!!!!

Yeah that's why he is doing very well against some good international strikers much better than you would get in the spl:87:

as much as i like O'dea its time to get rid of the players we dont need and he falls under this bracket.

no more loans, get them off the books.

Only thing he has going for him is that he's a home-grown player, but we're not exactly struggling in that department, and look like bringing new club products.

So * it. Let's actually find a quality CD.

Both definitely would. One, plus a new talented CD and we'd be fine. See how it goes.

I would be happy to have him back as back up, I think he's shown moments when at Celtic, but was never really good enough. From what I've heard he has improved a lot, so I think he'd be capable back up. However I don't see him getting first team football ahead of Rogne, Mulgrew or Wilson, and we could now have Lustig and Fojut ahead of him as well. I don't think he'd want to come back to play as a potential 6th choice centre-back.

so quite useful the. you ever tried takin a * with a raging hard on. plus i don't think a * would be appropriate in a lot of places. funerals, or dropping your bairns off at school for example

seriously though. i'd take o'dea back as maj is obviously done. plus he is obviously a good lad to have in the dressing room.
