So it's a central Scotland problem, not west coast. Judging by that map. But there's still bigots in every city and town up and down the UK. So the OP is entirely right in what he's saying.

TBH a lot of people say west-central because its more accurate than west-coast. Orange immigrants came from Ulster to Glasgow and all the wee industrial towns and village in Ayshire, Lanarkshire, central, western Fife etc in the 19th century about the same time as catholic immigrants were also settling down. I have heard Tam Devine say that the real problem was when both groups settled in the same place.

This one is the best I could find. Problem is they overlap each other so you cant see the sheer level of them in Glasgow etc at that scale.

What the * do you mean by "do you prefer to be the victim "
Why dont you take your head out of the seton sands and realise what is being said here.We all agree that it is a predominantly west central whatever coast problem Has anyone on here said differently ?
I have been a victim of sectarian violence and so have many of my friends and family so dont * insult me with SNP statistics
In case you didnt know ther are far more crimes that go unreported than are actually reported
Do you think that everyone who has been verbally abused or spat at has reported it to police? Have you already frgotten about the bigot who attacked Lennon at Tynecastle.Oh,sorry just another "one" incident from the other 20% of the stats

Not sure if you, through that map, are trying to claim that the only lodge in the north is in Aberdeen. Thats not the case.

yeah but not reporting the minor incidents would apply everywhere. It still stands that most of the stuff serious enough to report overwhelmingly comes from Strathclyde. Its a statistical fact. When a country like Aberdeenshire with Scotland's 3rd biggest city in it has zero out of c. 700 sectarian crimes reported and Strathclyde has around 600 or so then something is clearly going on. I mean Strathclyde has 600 times the level of sectarian crimes reported that Aberdeenshire does. I know Strathclyde probably has 5 times the population but we are talking 600 times worse which is surely about over 100 times out of proportion to its size. I am not saying sectarianism is only in certain areas (people of all types move around) but it moves from incredibly rare to scarily everyday depending on which area of the country you are talking aboug.

It wasnt a catholic march mate but an Irish Republican one, although in the minds of these bigots both are the same.Marchers attacked and their buses were smashed by around 600 "loyalists",edl, bnp and many of them from Scotland wearing Ran#ers tops etc

Horrible scumbag. But unless there is more to the story I see no reason to assume it was necessairly motivated by religion or politics, rather just another example of the kind of scumbags you find in our country.

Sorry to hear that. I hope the driver has got better since, and isn't affected too badly from the assault.
These are the same people that don't allow GREEN Peperami's in their stadium, don't allow salt & vinegar crisps in their ground because they are GREEN, they punch GREEN traffic lights. Absolute morons.

Definitely not exclusively a West of Scotland problem.

Take a drive through the likes of Bathgate, Armadale, Whitburn, Falkirk etc etc.

Yhink the point is, that these 2 groups make up 95% of the overall problem - according to the stats, which can sometimes be deceptive or interpereted, without knowing the context in their collation etc.

Surely not very fair to put every attack on a celtic fan down to sectarianism while putting every attack on a rangers fan or any other fan in scotland down to football violence?
